I wonder if the direct will bring any surprises. Maybe a new mainline game we are not ready for?

That would be a cool surprise.
It's been almost 6 years since Odyssey. I obviously hope we get something new, and it would make sense to tie something to the movie coming out this year. But, I am not overly optimistic.

I had the same thought, give me a new mainline Mario game!

Disappointing but not shocking. At least, Sony waited until a console generation jump and MS followed suit 2 years later.

The part that annoys me about this the most though is, every other company in the gaming industry believes in sales and price reductions. Nintendo has very occasional sales, and then marked right back up to retail.

$70 for a game on a console that's getting pretty outdated? Heck, this isn't like the last several Zelda games where they also were releasing on a new console at the same time. What's the justification?

Not seeing it discussed much but I would have loved to have gotten a Mario Kart follow up this generation rather than a slow trickling of DLC maps. I get that MK8 is strong enough to keep moving units even today but it does feel a bit like laziness to slowly add to a WiiU game rather than make a new title.

I let myself get suckered into buying the Mario Strikers game since the demo was decently fun and while the gameplay is solid, the available content is deep as a puddle. Just feels like where Mario "sports" are concerned, Nintendo is being lazy and/or cutting corners.

Anyway, would like some kind of update on Metroid Prime 4 but I don't think it's coming to Switch.

Does anyone think we may see the next console today? Feels like we are getting closer to that moment in time.

Maybe they're holding off on new Mario Kart to make it the launch title for the new system.

The description I read for this Direct was stuff for first half of 2023, so I doubt they'll be anything on a new Mario or anything too big with Zelda skated for May, they probably aren't going to release anything too big for June.

Yeah that's fair. Hoping for some cool stuff that wasn't announced previously.

Gameboy & Gameboy Colour is coming to Switch online which is kid of cool but nothing majorly special.

Oh and Game boy advance? Okay i'm a little excited for this.

Also Pokemon Trading Card game was one of my most played GBC games, excited for that.

This is one a lot of people wanted, but has been rumored for awhile (Metroid Prime Remastered).

Edit: And Shadowdropped.
