I doubt that Miller will be there. Lundqvist may or may not be. I could see Reunanen coming over.

I'd prefer Miller stay in school next year. I'd be OK with Lundkvist and Reunanen staying overseas. Let them bake some more.

With ADA, Trouba, Fox, Skjei, Staal, and Lindgren all on the NHL roster (at the moment) and Rykov, Hajek, Keane, Crawley, Day, and Raddysh all in or fighting for AHL spots, i have no problem letting The NextGen (Miller, Tarmo, Nils, Jones, Skinner, Robertson, etc) staying 'out of the way', refining their game and maturing, until the log-jam at the pro level clears a bit. Additionally, while Hartford has been better than it has been in past years, i am still not 100% confident in the system down there yet.

Crawley, Day, and Raddysh are not really competing for NHL positions. Not really. I think that either Rykov or Hajek will play considerable time in NY as I cannot see Staal being brought out night in and night out next year.

I know for a fact the plan, as of this past summer, was Miller returning to school for 1 more year to try and win a championship with a stacked Wisconsin team and then turning pro in 20-21. That's not set in stone, but that was at least the plan. Lots of events this year could change that. But I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Miller signed this spring whenever Wisconsin's season ends.

As for Lundkvist, you can't really ask for much more than the progress he has shown since being drafted. Having said that, a fellow Swede taken right after him - Rasmus Sandin - looks like one hell of a player in his short stint with the Leafs so far. Hopefully Nils' game translates as quickly and as smooth to the NHL :)

Well...hopefully he can live up to expectations . Who knows...some club might have the exact opposite probs we have on D and be loaded on the left and need a right handed shot . Straight trade nets us what we both want and a deal gets done . On the bright side...watching Sandin for the Maple Leafs and he looks amazing . It could spur a guy like Nils along...a boost !

Nils is currently 4th in the SHL in points among defenders, and 2nd in points per game.

Looking at a historical perspective (with the caveat that a lot of the players on the list were younger than him, or scoring leaguewide was different, etc. etc.), he's produced the second highest point scoring season of any U20 Dman in SHL history. He's one point behind Tim Erixon's for first, in 17 less games played. In terms of points per game, he's got the highest of any U20 Dman who played more than 7 games. Additionally, while +/- is an absolute garbage stat, he's got the 4th highest recorded on EliteProspect by a U20 dman.

Wasn't his upside compared to Boqvist's a lot prior to the draft year? I think at this point I would take Lundvist

Boqvist has already dipped his toes at the pro level and there's no substitute for that, but I don't envision there being a long transition period for Lundvist

Ah yes, superstar Tim Erixon. Can someone who's watched Lundkvist enough put us at ease and let us know that he won't suffer the same fate?
