Obviously some crossed the line shit must ve been said by the fan, zaitsev isn't not going around messaging everyone thats heckling him. Since when do you get to start shit then hide behind oh u famous, u cant act like that durrr

When I was a little one, my father gave me crucial advice that has served me well. "Stoney," he said, "there are lots of idiots in the world, and there always will be. It's your responsibility to navigate life without murdering one of those idiots, and it's your responsibility because they are idiots and you are not. Better get used to it, too. Oh, and the Lions will never win a Super Bowl. Don't ever spend a nickel on them."

He was wrong about me not being an idiot, but right about everything else. God, I miss him.

Meh. It's unbecoming a professional anything to lower yourself to that kind of bait, but the world would be a better place if more trolls faced consequences for their lulz.

Don't hate this from Zaitsev, sure it's petty and unprofessional, but fans and media are allowed to just shit all over players, spew tons and tons of hate through social media and on national tv and these athletes are just supposed to take it? People need to chill the f*** out and remember these are still people. "you can't let outside noise get to you as a professional", total bs from just another entitled keyboard warrior who thinks it's ok to just attack people because internet.

And the only loser in this scenario is the clown sharing the DM's trying to play victim and his friend. Bitch you delete all the messages about Zaitsev after calling him out, bitch move.

Bunch of wannabe tough guys in here. Obviously there may be more to the story but as it stands, a fan posted a dumb meme about how Zaitsev sucks. This isn’t a big deal. We are all on this very forum talking shit about players constantly. You’re telling me yall would happily go meet up with the players you shit talk to fight them? Ridiculous.

It’s part of being in the public eye / being a pro athlete. Fans will make jokes and insults. Long as it’s not racist or otherwise obviously crossing a line, it shouldnt matter. Nothing but weak behaviour from Zaitsev.
I was going to say. We literally call players losers and say they are busts or don't belong in the NHL all the time. The hypocrisy of people defending Zaitsev is ridiculous.

Pretty much my thoughts. It's just pathetic to spend ones time DMing athletes and/or celebs in order to trash them. It's also ridiculous of Zaitsev to bother acknowledging them. The only exception would be if the person was making some sort of threats, at which point you forward it to the authorities. Otherwise just shrug the saddo off like the nothing that they are.
The guy posted a meme. People say worse things about players on HFboards daily.

there it is:

He seems like a well-balanced human being, very mature for his age

First, how about you make an actual argument, actually stated, instead of getting everyone else to fill in the blanks for you? Second, you reeeeally think this is a burn or an own? Do you and all your deductive reasoning think you are accurately portraying things?

Sounds like someone who has never been to a bar before.

If you're instigating shit at a bar and someone clocks you in the face, that guy isn't going to get arrested. People are just going to think you deserved it for being a shithead.

What will happen in reality is that you'll get thrown out for instigating stuff and the bouncer will laugh at you for getting clocked.
What world do you live in?

Does that world not have a codified set of laws?

Pretty certain most bar fights end up with the cops getting called and everyone involved getting detained at the very least, and charged if the police believe they have committed a criminal offense.

and what did "your" friend say? Curious we only see one side here.

I personally think its trashy to go after pro athletes over a game, even more so taunting them on social media. They are people just like the rest of us. I don't blame them for losing their cool after putting up with douchebags on a daily basis.

The greatest thing about this are the usual HF tough guys ranting how this guy needs to man up he's a p***y hurr durr nobody is a real man anymore hurr durr I have fought many times in my life durrr.
Easy to say when your some anonymous Bylsma on HF. Sounds like you want to meet up too, then we can see how tough you are.

/s lmao yeah thread is just mass chest thumping.

It takes some sad false main-character of the universe energy to manufacture such a victim complex out of harassing people.

Obviously, no one meme made Zaitsev reach out to this guy; EVERYONE is making fun of Zaitsev, this guy isn't special. And I'm to believe that the meme insinuated to set Zaitsev off, actually did? It's a shit meme that isn't even close to being funny.

Clearly, beanie baby memester here pushed the line in harassing Zaitsev, f***ed around and found out. It's laughable otherwise to think a multi-millionaire cares about some unfunny chudster.

You can't tag players and family members in your HFBoards posts tho
did he even tag family members?

and i saw plenty of people taking shit about politicans and tagging them on election day on twitter. Imagine if a politician did what Zaitsev would do. he/she would be a joke.

lmao what kind of false equivalency is this? Pro Athletes should be held to the same standard as Politicians?

Kevin Durant claps back at all his haters on Twitter- who cares. The people who run these meme accounts are losers

Well judging from this thread pro athletes are held to no standard at all. Half of hfboards thinks zaitsev would be justified in physical violence over a meme.

Kevin Durant is usually made fun of for going after haters. The people who run these meme accounts are indeed losers. Pople who threaten them for memes are even bigger losers and bitches than them though.

Right but politicians are our elected representatives who's role is to act in what they believe to be our best interests. They have a kind of fiduciary duty to the public, and depend on us for their jobs.

Athletes are just random guys paid by a business to perform a task, which just so happens to make them into celebrities. Yes, fans contribute to their wages but if they are good enough they could probably say all fans smell and look like barnyard animals and they would still get paid.

The point is you don't get to threaten someone with violence because they posted a meme regardless of who you are.
