Don't hate this from Zaitsev, sure it's petty and unprofessional, but fans and media are allowed to just shit all over players, spew tons and tons of hate through social media and on national tv and these athletes are just supposed to take it? People need to chill the f*** out and remember these are still people. "you can't let outside noise get to you as a professional", total bs from just another entitled keyboard warrior who thinks it's ok to just attack people because internet.

And the only loser in this scenario is the clown sharing the DM's trying to play victim and his friend. Bitch you delete all the messages about Zaitsev after calling him out, bitch move.
People have been attacking athletes and famous people since way before the internet existed. Are you serious?

When I was a little one, my father gave me crucial advice that has served me well. "Stoney," he said, "there are lots of idiots in the world, and there always will be. It's your responsibility to navigate life without murdering one of those idiots, and it's your responsibility because they are idiots and you are not. Better get used to it, too. Oh, and the Lions will never win a Super Bowl. Don't ever spend a nickel on them."

He was wrong about me not being an idiot, but right about everything else. God, I miss him.
Is it Stony or Stoney?

I'm starting to think that's not your real name.

I heard some player say the first thing they're taught is to resist the temptation to look yourself up online. There's only two outcomes once you head down that path - you either get a big head from the praise or you start obsessing over any criticism. It's probably impossible to let it go once you've started.

Zaitsev is so soft lol

Also to those saying "why didnt the guy respond, hes being a p***y", à better response would have been to leave him on read and post that
we can't all be a workers union ball sucker hanging out by the harbour gates keeping an eye on the company hired protesters for Evart Claire.

The point is you don't get to threaten someone with violence because they posted a meme regardless of who you are.
dont want to be "that guy" but technically it's not a threat of violence.

there's no guarantee that Zaitsev wouldn't, upon being insulted in person, say something like "good for you, I didn't think you had the nuts, let's go get a drink"

and if it's not, well... worse people to sue, right?

Maybe not a popular opinion but I don't see this as embarrassing to Zaitsev. He basically just said say it to my face. I'd reckon that's actually pretty bad ass. He didn't say "LET'S THROW DOWN BRUH"

And people get arrested all the time.
Sure they do. Lots of people also pop off at the mouth and get knocked in the mouth without any arrests taking place.

Fact is far too many people now think they can say whatever they want to whoever they want, however they want and whenever they want with impunity.

"You can't hit me, I'll call the cops!"

Have fun with that. Nevermind the fact that a large movement of people who have now wholly equated words to violence, so this is how it goes.

Zaitsev isn't lots of people. That's my point.

This. So many stupid takes in this thread.

Are you just assuming the person saying shit will lose the fight?

No. I guess my stance is if you want to talk shit to people and someone slaps you in the mouth for it, don't cry about it.

Lots of people now just jump to the "yeah violence is a bad way to deal with it" and I don't entirely disagree. But I also think the internet has enabled a generation of people who think it's okay to say whatever they want and people can't hit them for it because hitting is bad and childish, and I think a lot of people could do with a good old shot in the chicklets. I'm sure some folks will just assume I'm a bad person for it, but whatever. I was always taught not to talk shit to people unless I was willing to answer the bell but it seems like that sentiment is no longer viable for todays society.

Would be different , if people had to use their real names, and country.

If you let the little things get to you, how are to be expected to deal with the big things when they inevitably come into play?

Professionals, in all industries, are paid well, highly respected, and can be trusted to do perform well under stress.

Losing your shit because a nobody called you out on letting in too many goals? That's the complete opposite of what every single employer looks for in an employee.

People on this site will gleefully talk shit anonymously, with a twinkle in their eye, about any players they choose on a daily basis, but some dude anonymously posting a harmless meme on Instagram apparently warrants a beatdown from a professional athlete, lmao

Everyone involved looks like a sad loser for absolutely nothing that really should have an impact on their lives. Quite an accomplishment.

Basically impossible these days as well, since every athlete (pro or minor) has a social media presence of some sort.

That said, Zaitsev obviously shouldn't have stooped to the level of this random idiot. If they happened to actually meet up, and a fight broke out, Zaitsev could easily be sued (and suspended, if he was criminally charged).
