Player Discussion Nikita Zadorov

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

He's a pretty good interview, seems intelligent. Love how he corrected the interviewer about his ice time. "Well, it's lower because of penalties and sometimes getting kicked out".
I believe he will become a fan favorite. We Bruins fans, love tough guys!

Skates well N\S for such a big guy.

Why would anyone panic over water finding it's natural level? He is a third pairing guy and has been for his entire career. The money Sweeney paid him doesn't change what he is. It simply makes him overpaid.
if all the pairings are steady to better then i couldnt care less (unless we cant score at all)

i see a lot of posts suggesting that we overpaid for our 3rd d pairing.

a quick peake at puckpedia has the bruins at about 32% of the cap dedicated to the defense (unless i read it incorrectly). there are 8 teams with a higher % dedicated to their D (and 4 other teams within one or two%). with the ever changing d pairings monty is going to use, would the overall % of cap be a better gauge on d cost than just looking at the pairing combos?

I'd also add that Hampus has looked healthy this preseason and seems to have regained the pep in his step, which may influence the pairings. Small sample size though.

It's not the percentage allotted to the defense over all, its that they're paying their bottom pairing of Peeke and Zad $7.75 mill per as a cap hit. That's insane when you look at the fact that their top 6 looks like Swiss cheese. That nearly 8 mill could have and should have been used on an impact player instead of bottom pairing stiffs, who by the nature of their roles, should be low cost players. Paying them that while leaving massive holes at the top of the roster is why this team is in cap trouble.

To be fair their 2nd pair has to be one of the lowest paid in the league and is probably more towards what most teams pay their 3rd pair.

I would agree. I was really impressed with how good he's looked. Looks really calm, and making very smart plays.

If Zadorov plays with Carlo and Lohrei plays with Peeke, will you feel better?

i see that you constantly post this, and i respect your opinion. i would be inclined to agree with you if i saw the d pairings as set as you do. i see it more fluid and thats the reason for my question.

No, because I feel like the Zadorov signing was a mistake and misguided. He’s a luxury to have if you don’t have glaring holes elsewhere.

And that’s a great counterpoint to my concern about over paying the third pairing.
