Nikita Kucherov is the clear favorite for the Art Ross Trophy

What fanbase is known for the biggest assholes? Not implying anything.....just curious. I mean.....since we are labelling it is good to know the who's who.
There is a difference between being whiny and an ass hole.

I’d say Avs fans are by far the most sarcastic and could be interpreted as the name you mentioned above.

In all honesty, I try to avoid such labels. There are cool ones and uncool ones in every crowd.

Canadians seem to love to dump on Americans all the time ....but the absolute most amazingly gracious act of kindness towards a stranger I ever experienced was when my wife were in the US travelling on our honeymoon. When I went to check out of a hotel, a woman we met and spoke to for maybe 10 minutes the night before, had already gone and paid our bill that morning!!!

I like to consider people individually because if you sum the whole, you'll miss a lot.

I'm starting to think McDavid is going to have to score 145 points this season to win that elusive sixth Art Ross (to tie Howe and Lemieux for second most ever). That would be a lot more feasible if he hadn't missed two games early in the season, but he has only 18 games left. To get 39 points in 18 games isn't beyond McDavid, but that's a pretty tall order. The Oilers score more at home than on the road this year, and their PP is great at home and terrible on the road. So, they have 10 of 18 games remaining at home, which might help McDavid's chances. Among these home-game opponents are Montreal, Buffalo, Anaheim, Arizona, and San Jose. If he gets in another 5-point game or whatever vs. one of those club, he still has a really good chance.

MacKinnon would need 30 points in his final 15 games to reach 145, but I wouldn't that past him, either. He's just dialled-in this season and isn't slowing down.

Quite a race to the finish, maybe. Wouldn't it be great if it all goes down to the final game of the season, which is Colorado vs. Edmonton?

We’re truly getting spoiled as fans this decade. Never thought we’d see an art Ross race this down to the wire where all 3 players have a shot at 140+ points back in 2015

love everyone counting Kuch out when he hasnt played for a week:laugh:
To be fair thats what people have been doing with Mcdavid

Mcdavid has and still has games in hand. Yes the gap is still there due to Mack and Kuch having all time great years but Mcdavid cant put 7-8 pts in 3 games and steal the ross

The race is tight. None of them can afford a quite (ppg type) 5-6 game stetch

5 point night for Kucherov just as he was buried for dead.

I feel like I have to say it a million times, but the guy is so insanely underrated. I dunno if it's cuz he's a Winger, Russian or doesn't play for a "northern" team, but he's way better than he gets acknowledged for.
definitely not being North American doesnt help.

Adam Oates and Marty St.Louis also had the glass half empty treatment, as Canadians, no matter what they did.

I suspect an additional thing going on might be that pundits are very proud. When they get a MacDavid, Crosby or Mackinnon, whom they lauded for years previous to stardom, they can say, "see? I know this game"

when someone flies under the radar..... maybe there is a stubborn refusal to asmit their talent.

in any case - yes, a guy who already has a Ross, two playoff scoring leads, and is in the hunt again - on a team that he is arguably carrying more than the other two are theirs...... i mean, when all three are within hairs of each other... how does one of those three get the backseat?

Since starting his first 10 games with 11 points and 4 pointless games, Kucherov has 101 points in his past 55 games, has notched at least a point in 48 of them, and has six games with at least 4 points (5, 4, 6, 4, 4, 5).

If he continues his PPG from his past 55 games, he’ll finish with 141 points in 81 games played.

Mac on pace for 140.7
Kuch 139.5
Mcd 136.7 (but he had obvious dip at the start)

Will be decided on last day of reg season in Edm-Col game

As an Avs fan...obviously want MacK to win, badly, he's due. As a fan of hockey...damn, what an awesome race between Kuch/MacK/McDavid. One of the best races for the scoring title we've seen in a long time IMO.
You weren't excited watching Jamie benn get phantom points in his final game of the season to beat Tavares?

McDavid tracking down and passing the two monster seasons of Kuch and Mack will be difficult but I still maintain he's the favourite to win it. All time race going on this year.

One caveat many people are overlooking is that McDavid may very well choose to rest for the last 2 games if the Oilers are locked into the #2 seed in the Pacific. The fact that it's a road back-to-back makes it even more likely in my opinion.
