Nikita Kucherov is the clear favorite for the Art Ross Trophy

Updated totals as of this morning:

Kucherov - on pace for 137 points and 50 goals in 81 games
MacKinnon on pace for 137 points and 51 goals in 82 games
McDavid on pace for 136 points and 104 assists in 80 games

As neck and neck as it gets for the Ross and Hart.

Speaking of Hart - Matthews has slowed down a bit in the past week. Now on pace for 72 goals and 107 points in 81 games. When he was on pace for closer to 80 goals then 75 not too long ago, he seemed to be in the race for hart despite lower point toals - but unless he picks it up again soon, he's going to be too far back to have a shot at the hart above those 3.

I'm not interested enough at this point, but if we are really trying to guess at who has the best chance.....the top 3 seems to be pacing for around the same totals.....has anyone looked at teams each will be playing for the rest of the season (perhaps still too early for that)?

And if McDavid plays their final back to back if it means nothing

One key area of interest is that the Avalanche and Oilers play each other three times in their final 15 and 18 games respectively.

Pity Tampa doesn't play zillion games vs Chicago...
Mackinnon (kucherov and McDavid as well for that matter) have had a higher ppg against the east compared to the west, both during this season and last season as well, so saying he gets to play against favorable opponents isn’t really a strong case. Most of the time it’s a crap shoot anyways.

You would think that leans a bit in McDavid's favour because TB gives up a lots more goals against than EDM

Not a race. Just a massive troll job by McDavid

This may be the best art ross race we've seen since 1979 in all honesty. It's so fun seeing this many star calibre players all have peak seasons at the same time.

For reference, here's the top 4 players in points for that season:
