I'd put the odds 40-40-20 (McD, Kuch, MacK) right now. It's gonna be a tight race.

McDavid has publicly dismissed the scoring race. Oilers end the season in a back to back, if those games have no playoff indications they'll likely rest Connor for one of the games especially considering how condensed the Oilers schedule is for the reminder of the season.
How convenient of him to dismiss the scoring race, wonder why that is.

Haha , you’re not serious. This is like saying the leafs only care about the playoffs.

They seem pretty serious to me

Draisaitl has one more year left, McDavid has two. They've got all their regular season accolades, trophy cases full except for the one they really care about

I don't see why that would be funny for the Leafs either, they've been there and done that in the regular season. Who gives a shit about another rocket / hart?

I am sure he wouldn't mind winning the scoring title but I doubt after winning 5 he is overly concerned about it. I am sure his focus is the Cup at this point. It's one thing to have a great season when you are hot and everything goes right offensively but for himself personally and the Oilers team to come back from where they were to start the season is amazing. McDavid should have been out of this thing a long time ago and if he was any other player they wouldn't even have a chance. McDavid is the best on the planet for a reason and coming back from that adversity early on is extremely impressive. Other guys have to torch the league and play the best they have ever played just to compete with McDavid's normal level of play, I doubted he had any chance in hell about 10 games ago but even after 9 years this guy finds ways to impress. I still don' think he will end up leading the league in scoring this season but the fact he still leaves a doubt is impressive.

Is there an explanation anywhere on how his model hands out points? I certainly wouldn't rank them in this order (Kuch seems really low). Unless someone is playing D like prime Bergeron, I don't think any of the voters care about defense from forwards.

Dom is consistent in his methodology. He didn't have Draisaitl on his ballot in 2020 even though Drai ran away as the scoring leader due to mediocre defensive play. Looks like Kucherov is getting dinged for the same. Difference this year to 2020 is that this year two other players are just as productive offensively as Kucherov while being better defensively. In 2020 no one was on Drai's level offensively.

Based on AllStar performance it seems like.

Kuch has a deuce to Mack single digit so far in the Art Ross game tonight.

But maybe McDavid lands a quad later on against the Blues eh?

St. Louis is the one of only teams that McDavid doesn’t really light it up against. Hoping for a breakout, but they always play him tough.

Who knows?

But having an art ross race like this where 3 players have a shot at cracking 125-30 pts is pretty nuts.

Hope it comes down to the wire. Its been very entertaining.
Yes a 3 way Art ross race and exciting Norris and Calder race is something to get excited about down the stretch.

Dom gets a tingle in his pants. It's a journalism thing. He wants to f*** himself.

McDavid will win it easily really. Don’t see it being all that close by the end of the season either.
If McDavid keeps up his post injury pace and while Kuch and Mackinnon maintain the pace they are at this season it will be very very close. Like 1 or 2 points close.
