With a win tonight we'd officially be in the 2nd wildcard spot :towel:

The Blue Jackets and Pens play tomorrow though so one of them would be guaranteed to overtake us lol.

A playoff spot almost half way through the season and after being near the bottom a month ago. Who would have thought?

Very curious to see how long they can keep this team D/goaltending going.

It's just fun for now. I don't expect playoffs so I'm just enjoying the ride while the games are still meaningful... and hoping that I'm wrong at the same time.
This is how I feel. And it’s how I felt this year would go before the season began. I thought we’d be fighting for a spot but ultimately lose out at somewhere around 85 points. Then we got off to that terrible start…

Things are finally starting to really click. With Dach coming back and the addition of Carrière things are definitely looking a lot better.

Still room for Dach's game to round out.. and then of course, we know Newhook can do more than he is doing and Slaf is the other one that has massive room for improvement.

My theory on Slaf is this:

He got injured year 1 so he didn't really have a rookie season in full.
Year 2 was a normal rookie year, learn the league struggle and then find your game second half.
This year is his sophomore slump.
People know what he did last year that made him successful, bought his hype a bit, now he's gotta figure out how to expand his game and adapt.

Newhook’s season has been so strange. Terrible at the beginning and then improved a lot but not rewarded for it. He should have a lot more points than he does.

Slaf I feel is a little complacent. Needs to fire up his game but I’m not worried about him in the slightest.

Right around February was when I would’ve expected RB to join the team. It’s a shame he can’t.

A win against Vancouver tonight puts us into the 2nd wild card spot!

Let's f***ing go!!!!!

They do really need to win tonight. Because tomorrow, it's OTT vs. DET and CBJ vs. PIT. So the 4 teams directly in competition with the Habs are facing each other. The priority is that those games end in regulation and they don't become 3-point games.

Canadiens have best bottom 6 in league
Possibly. But probably among most expensive.

In any case, there's been talk about rolling four productive lines for ages. We're finally seeing what that could look like. Maybe it will be beginning of new model and we'll finally be ahead of the curve instead of chasing latest trends (like when Bergs decided getting huge was the answer).

Carey Price better start getting back to game shape. We're gonna cap circumcise the league so hard in the playoffs. Oh and Demidov too.
I think Carey is ready to take over for the playoffs. But I feel like it's gonna be le Printemps de Dobes all over again!
