With 4 game days to go, top-4 Art Ross finishers are set with large degree of certainty.
Nobody saw it playing out this way just 10 days ago...

Well at least he gets to be there to witness kucherov being handed the awards. And perhaps some highlight reels of what it takes to be a winner.

For the first time in 6 years no double-headed monsters in top-4.
Points are a bit collective/shared stat, not this year.

I hope the voters award McDavid with his rightful Ted Lindsay. He was still clearly the best player in the league this year even with the injuries slowing him down.

Point totals vs goalies (trigger warning TB fans:laugh:)

Kucherov 127 in 79gp - 1.61 pts/game
MacKinnon 129 in 80gp - 1.61 pts/game
McDavid 125 in 74gp - 1.68 pts/game

Kuch should probably get the Ross + Hart, but I can see MacKinnon getting the Hart because of the narratives.

What are the narratives. I see a lot of people say he should get the hart but I don't know why he should get it over Kucherov

The narrative has been MacKinnon MVP pretty much all year, even when McDavid and Kucherov where ahead statistically. I think it's because he has never won and should have in 2017, so the voters will want to give it to him.

Bit of an odd narrative . I can see a case being made for him but I tip the scale to Kucherov due to I think TB would be worse off than the Avs without each player. And also the point gap for 2nd best on each team.

I think Kuch seals it with 100 assists. Right now IMO he should still get it. Mack's slipped a little, even with the pt today. By not playing McDavids fallen back to. Seems like Nikita's to lose at this point as well.

It's not my narrative, I would vote Kucherov. It Just feels like MacKinnon has had the MVP narratives all season long. Just my sense from reading social media etc, I could be wrong.

McD also rode a cheechoo train roller-coaster from 44G to 64G rocket and back to 31G.
Still the best player but not immortal.

I have watched every Oilers game this season, and I cannot even count the amount of times McDavid was open in the slot with the puck and I yelled "shooooot" at my TV while he passed the puck. Could be a lingering injury, or could just be a deliberate play style thing. Either way, if his goal prop next season is any where near the 40 range I will be smashing the over.

Mcdavid has been ahead of mack statistically this season? When october 10? Mcdavid has held a tie for the scoring lead for one hour all season. He deserves 0 awards for the regular season.

Barring a 5 point night for Nate in his next and final game, it's probably Kucherov's to lose.

McDavid has a higher pts/game than MacKinnon right now.

McDavid played at least the first month of the year with injury, possibly more. Has played 1 HOUR fewer powerplay icetime (McDavid scores 10 points per hour on the PP), and has 4 less empty net points. And despite all that has a higher pts/game... If that isn't ahead statistically, then I am not sure what is.

Its crazy that we talk about narratives in these conversations. Giving out rewards to the losers is what make us live in such a twisted society these days. Everyone needs to win huh?

MacKinnon needed to stay hot while Kucherov cooled down but he's only got 1 assist in his last 2 games while Kucherov didn't register a point in his last one. It's highly likely the race is over unless MacK gets 6-7 points over the next two games and Kucherov only gets 1-2.

MacK has only one game left though while Kuch has two. It’s Nikita’s race to lose now.
