There's no need to read again. Perhaps you should read again. I have nothing to do with expathabs. And I think you missed the part where I said "You're both wrong."

Your issue is with him. You "read again". I never claimed he put up 1.6 ppg.in Liiga.

The point was, Liiga is better than the OHL, so it doesn't matter how many points someone put up in the OHL compared to Liiga as a 17 year old. No matter what Expathabs is claiming.

So you.... "read again", so maybe you can comprehend what is being said. Comprende? You "read again" and maybe you'll notice, I don't care what fake numbers Expathabs claims, I never made those claims and they have nothing to do with my response. Where I stated how many points Slaf actually scored in Liiga.... and it still doesn't reflect negatively upon him.....

It seems like the entire point when right over your head. So take your own advice, "read again".
I edited my post out of respect for your sincerity. You can read that. But Slaf's Liiga stats are very much real -- nothing fake there, so don't go on claiming that. He got 10 points in Liiga last year, and 10 points in the NHL this year. He's had two awful league years back to back. Very real, sadly for us.
I'm curious what you actually think Slaf's career trajectory is and what he will need to achieve not be a disappointment.
Many of his biggest horn-blowers claim they'd be happy with 60 points from Slaf when he's in his prime. So basically a slightly better Gallagher. They claim that we're wrong to think think that's bad even in a "bad draft year".

I never want to hear about tanking again if the reward is 60 point players who get concussed every month. Very kindly, F off with that.

I don't get all this Slaf hate either. The kid has looked like a talented 18 year old who can handle himself in the NHL. What an absolutely atrocious start to his career. huh?
I'm a big Slaf fan too and I think he will be a good player for us down the road.

What concerns me is his IQ. I haven't heard of any 18 year old before Slaf that had to work on keeping his head up during practice.

Not saying he won't improve but as of today, that is my biggest and probably only concern at this point in his development

KK and Poehling should have done so and Poehling was over 18 when he set foot in the NHL.

I was talking about junior hockey, as in junior Liiga, where Slaf didnt even produce as much in a much weaker league.

Except Slaf was playing in pro Liiga when others are still playing in Jrs in North America, So again, fairly irrelevant.

He was born in 2004

So let's see, when he was` 13 he scored 54 in 23 in U16 and they moved him to U18 that same season I believe. And then in U 18, that same season, he had 14 in 18, When he was like 13. He's always been one of the younger players everywhere he's been. Which is why him getting promoted to U18 so young effected his stock.

Then a year later in U16 again In Czech instead of Slovakia this time.

And then they moved him to Czech U19 when he was like 14 years old.....

Then finally in Finland.... at 15 years old, in the U16 he had 3 in 2. They promoted him quickly to U18, where he went on to have 52 in 39, and then still they gave him a few games in U20, when he just turned 16, he had 3 in 4 games.

Then at 16 years old finally, Covid shortened season, had 13 in 16 in U20 Finland, then by 17 they had him play some games in U18 and then sent him to Liiga...... where he had 10 in 31 in the pro league.

So how are these even comparable? He was playing in men's Liiga when most North Americans are having their sophomore season in Jrs.

He was 15 when he went to Finalnd, 16 by the time the 1st season ended, after playing in U16, U18 and U20 that same 2019/2020 season. And then Liiga at 17. So no I'm sorry, it's just not comparable.

He played Junior liiga in his draft year.
11 games where he scored 18 points... before moving to Liiga. Yea started that year at 16 years old. Which, I was actually wrong about, that would be most North American's Freshman season in Jrs. And also he was at 1.6 ppg for that all be it short 11 game stint. So I guess is technically correct if that's what referring to. All though I think his play in Liiga says more about how advanced he is than a tiny sample size in FinU20 when he was 16.

So by the end of that year, the end of Slaf's Freshman "Jr" season, he was playing in pro Liiga after having scored 18 points in 11 games in Fin U20. Then he had 2 goals and 5 assists in 18 playoff games in Liiga. 11 games can't tell us how he would have continued. But yea, the fact that he got moved to Liiga directly from that 11 game stint, speaks volumes.

Point being, he is ahead of many of the other guys mentioned, even Suzuki, when compared at the same age.

Suzuki's got 5 points in his last 5 games and is a +6. He's definitely rounding back into form after a midseason slump.

Pretty impressive considering who he's playing with. Hope he keeps it up for the rest of the year.

He seemingly cannot break past a 60ish point pace by himself.

I think he’s a legit top line player but it’s interesting to see how well/how much a player can produce in (relative) isolation.

What's interesting is that he's been more of a scorer this year compared to his previous seasons, he clearly needs some good finishers on his wings to boost his overall production as he's more of a playmaker IMO.

31 points in the first 31 games of the season. 18 points in 34 games after that. It's a disappointing season even if it's a bad team with bad linemates for a player of his caliber. ESPECIALLY when he showed better athleticism, skill, drive, and smarts at the start of the year. The fatigue has really killed his game.

Are you trying to say he should produce at a PPG pace even when playing with subpar linemates? He's no McJesus...

I would have liked to see some growth production-wise. He was bad for a while before CC got injured too. Dach was producing well with Hoffman and Dadonov as well. I'm not asking him to be McJesus, but a guy like Larkin is essentially playing alone up front with the Red Wings but has 60 points in 63 games and will be making 850k more than him. I wouldn't even be surprised if Suzuki doesn't hit 60 points this year.

Larkin has better surroundings IMO.

Suzy will do just fine when this team will actually go for it.

And I actually agree that MSL is playing him too much in a lost season...

He probably sees it as a more minutes=more progression situation so he feeds him as many minutes as he can so he can learn stuff and get better...
