In a season with so many 100 point players I'm not impressed by squeezing to 60pts and minus a bajillion. That's well below Plekanec level even.

I have high hopes he pulls it together next year and becomes even more adept, confident, and capable -- more productive and effective. Onward and upward because we have no hope to win anything in the next eight years if he remains a 60 point C who is minus a bajillion.

All that said... congrats to him for breaking his career high by nearly 20 points and enduring this horribly difficult season. He had nobody to play with other than rookie Caufield. The third most points on the Habs has less than 35, that's 2000-2003 Habs level bad.
Paced for a 75 point season once MSL showed up. That’s about what I expect from him next year.

This was Suzuki’s final season on his entry level contract and under Dominique Ducharme’s charge, Suzy was under immense pressure to produce points. Marty St. Louis taking over from Ducharme took off that anvil of pressure off of Suzy and Caufield.

The next season will see Suzy begin to receive $7.95 M per annum. Normally, a large amount of pressure ensues however St. Louis will continue to counsel Suzy to think offense first and he will likely have a career season.

Over.
But just barely with 70 pts lol, 25g45a
But I like that gambling line it's a good one

Eventually would like consistent 30g 50a seasons god willing, but I really think he can do it
Thats where I have him next year as well 70-75. Mainly seeing assists going up though behind Caufield

Suzuki finishes the season with a 49.6% faceoff win percentage. Great improvement
Yep, he started really badly but got better as the season went on... I think he'll be one of the best faceoff man in the league in a few years. Suz is so brilliant.

If still healthy next season, I could easily see him getting between 75 and 85 points. Caufield could score 40-45 and also get 70-80 points.

Gallagher's time as a potential candidate for the captaincy was when Pacioretty was traded. Unfortunately for Gallagher, Weber was far and away the better option. Not even close.

It takes more than raw effort and hard work to be a good leader. Watching him over the last 10 years from afar, ive noticed there are many leadership attributes that Gallagher simply lacks.

I think the captaincy is Suzuki's to lose, given the youth movement that the team is going through. I think Gallagher's time passed a few years ago.

I think CC will eventually score 35+ goals and Suzuki being PPG.

But not next year . They won’t have the offensive and defensive support . Petry might be gone it won’t help.

I predict 70 points for Suzuki next year and 30 goals for CC.

I think we still finish bottom 3

I'm not excited by the idea of giving the C to Suzuki. It reminds me too much of Pacioretty, who was older at the time he received it.

Suzuki has shown a lot of character, both in the OHL and NHL, but he's already gonna have to manage the pressure of putting up points because of his contract and he's no McKinnon. It's not like next year is gonna be full of joy for the players.

I didn't like it when the Avs gave it to Landeskog either, and they had to manage the Duchene saga afterwards. Imagine Suzuki having to talk of Petry until the deadline...

My pick would be Edmundson if we had to have a captain next year, but I'd prefer to wait and see how Suzuki does next year and offer him the C at the end of the season if all went well.

thought this last night when he was at the rocket game, there getting him ready to be captain by having more involved in the community and with the habs
He's living in Montreal all summer doing a bunch of different work. Could be the guy going forward

Suzuki have all tools to put 30g, 50a type of season. His shot is very very good,

Caufield 40g, 40a too.

They are too good to don't put numbers like that... they are both PPG talent, for sure.
