Suzuki and Caufield are going to save Montreal Canadiens franchise.
And with a top pick this year and a good potential supporting cast, we should be fine. Hopefully one or two guys overachieve so we can get over the top. With Suz I think he'll be a 70+ point player, with a few PPG years, hopefully with CC as well

It's a nice start. I think CC has true superstar potential. Suzuki, I think will be a really good player but I don't see him becoming the star that CC is. We still need more top talent throughout the lineup. The D looks like it has some good prospects coming but I still don't see anyone other than CC that really screams superstar.

I do like Suzuki though. I think he can be a point per game guy.

A ppg defensively gifted center is not a super star? Are guys like bergeron/toews super stars? Those guys rarely hit ppg

When will he named captain?

Never injured
Never had covid
Leader on ice
gives his 100% everyshift
play as good defensively and offensively
can play against anyone
0 problem talking to the medias.
His team is dead last in the NHL.

There’s no need to rush it this season unless MSL personally vouches for his leadership to HuGo.

who cares if they are last , what does it matter?

Send a message that the team leader will be here at long term
Where is the leader leading them to?

I don’t understand the rush. I know it’s dope to have a captain, and I hate not having one, but this season is nearly over I don’t see the point of thrusting the young man into that position. It’s not like we project to be a successful team next year either. That’s a lot of heat he’s gonna receive — and with his huge contract, I don’t see the benefit for him or us to rush this. Everybody knows he’s gonna be here for a while, his extension hasn’t kicked in…

There is no rush. He will enter his 4th season
Success or not next year there will be a new captain. So we can also get rid of the worst captain after Pacioretty we had in this franchise.

There is nobody else to be captain material besides Suzuki.

Gallagher sucks
Byron lol
Edmundson would be a joke
Anderson is not captain material

Give the team to the kids . Suzuki is proven in playoffs and regular season and hes insanely young

I hear you brother. I wanna see Suzuki and Caufield be given the team and be let loose by MSL. I think they'll rise to the occasion. I just don't see the point of doing it now.

I mean I do see the point -- it would mean less of a distraction next season and allow Nick Suzuki to focus on his actual job -- but I don't think the Habs organization is so forward thinking as to do this stuff mid-season.

Are we stripping every captain of their C when their team misses the playoffs lmao...the hoops people jump through to not give him the C, even he knows he's going to get it so might as well just give it to him in the off-season.

Who's stripping what?

What's the problem with waiting until the season ends?

Love him. I also like that little physicallity side he's showing us from time to time.

As for his ppg stats, it will get to another level when the team will have more than 1 line capable of producing. Right now, the other teams can still focus on only him and Caufield.

Nice to see him step up his overall game and bring a smidge of nasty. Was contemplating exchanging my bike as every time I looked at it, I felt a little dismayed TBO.
