Yeah, the whole undefeated fighting record in his career was exciting for a bit.
Dude doesn't seem to have a mean bone in his body. Not sure what gives??
I'd like to think he's just one of those players that every one steers clear of so they don't get killed.
I do know that I thought he would be a great fit and he's been terrible.

I thought it was him being completely useless at hockey

The 4th line with Engvall has been great.
The 4th line with Ritchie got caved.

If there is that much difference between Engvall and Ritchie that is scary how bad Ritchie is at hockey.
Nick was supposed to bring toughness, he did not. as a hockey player he is bad. Without the heavy element Ritchie is a waivers guy.

I'd be surprised if he's claimed. I'd imagine he would go to the taxi squad which would give them over a million in extra cap space to play with.

I hope he is claimed though, if for no other reason than to get out of his contract for next season.

I don't care that he hasn't been scoring but his effort makes it seem like he just doesn't give a f*** which is gross.

Can we assume they tried to trade him first before waiving?

If it wasn't for the 2.5mil I'd keep him around, Refs are gonna call the playoffs different like they usually do and injuries are gonna happen even more with the condensed schedule. I dunno he seems like a guy I'd like to keep around problem though the Leafs just don't muck it up enough to get him involved. I think Anaheim might pick him up as they are rebuilding and they know him.

Probably something bigger in the works if he's targeting Ritchie's cap hit. Id say this doesn't bode well for Holl either. Him and Ritchie are 4.5 mil and it's not like we're just going to forget Dubas soured on Holl this season. He's been mediocre to average since and not necessary for our success, so I don't see why that would have changed.

Excited for an upgrade to the top 4 D. This might be the first stepping stone.

Could you imagine a scenario where you keep Kerfoot & McCann and Seattle picks Holl or Dermott and use the cap space saved from one of those two and never have the need to sign Ritchie for $2.5m.
