Nick Ritchie discussion - clears waivers

Sandin & Liljegren get demoted every off day which allows us to accrue cap space to use on game days
 
Hopefully it’s just a matter of time Ritchie gets dealt. It clearly hasn’t worked out here. It was a good gamble to take though.

Depends how team plays but guys like Gards and Sandin are extremely risky players because no one knows on ice what they are gonna do .. but to me it look like a bone headed move by Sandin where he put team completely out of position in a bad formation for very little gain .. but this is da issue with offensive only defense .. they will lose you 1 or 2 goals against per game .. they need to add 2 or 3 to make it work .. last night Sanding was brutal

Yeah I assume it was for the cap and no it's not really a surprise. I guess this allows them to add Lillijgren back but now they have no extra forwards?

they could always call him back if their are injuries or covid cases.

Yeah makes sense. The must want to get both Sandin and Lilli into the lineup Saturday.
 
Yup this was coming. Team has given him plenty of opportunities and he hasn't done anything with it. That goal against last night is inexcusable.

I’d have to agree with you, I can see too many gms seeing this year as an anomaly since he’s got the tools but isn’t using or being used properly. I’m fine with them clearing that contract off the books so far it’s a big disappointment. Would love to have a true power forward but this dude has lost all that fight for sure.

Clifford is the extra guy, plus the taxi squad gives you some room to carry guys... we shall see.
