Like I mentioned in the GDT. Kind of hard to place blame on him when we don't know what went down. If the story comes out and it was something really bad on his part then sure, but for now people need to wait and see what actually happened before calling for his head.

Well, no wonder he has security… if bad people are involved in Ukrainian girl trafficking… and this blew up in his room, I am sure someone wants revenenge… especially when so called bad people are involved…

I mean that is how it works with the mafia… I am not sure which problem is bigger… his wife or having some gangstas looking for you…
Gangsters and apparently the police are looking for him too

Avs re-upped Wilson, he played 9 games on that new contract and then disappeared.

We didn't learn a thing until after his contract expired and he posted in the Players Tribune.

Either the Avs are unlucky or they just aren't good enough at detecting problems before signing new contracts.
Yeah, like they're going to re-sign Newhook and Compher and only then realize they both suck shit.

Yeah, Bednar's comments post game about Nichushkin are weird as well...

Somebody asked him about the loss of Nichushkin and it being more adversity to overcome and his response was "Sometimes life throws things at you"

I dunno...We'll just have to wait and see if anything comes out about it but I thought that line was odd.

If I was a player, I'd be so f***ing pissed at Nuke. Not sure he'll be welcome back next season the way he scurried off when they needed him most
I'm pretty sure that's why he wasn't playing. Whatever he got into may have shown he's not 100% focused and they told him to go home to get his head straight. That's not something that lasts forever, I'm pretty confident he'll be back for next season and be looking to make amends as long as this thing doesn't blow up with criminal charges.

Now Jared a philosopher eh. Good for him.

Really depends what he did. The players probably know.

About to do what I absolutely hate that everyone else is doing, but anyway...

What if it's a mental health thing that's going on with Nuke. What if the dudes been fighting depression all year, had turned to Alcohol and an escort as part of that depression... And now he's at a mental health facility getting treatment. If self harm was a concern it would explain the security escort when he left the team for example. It would also explain ultimately why no charges or anything came out of the situation with his hotel room. And it would explain why the Avs are being so hush about it and why Bednar has reiterated multiple times that it wasnt disciplinary and that it was personal. And could help explain Bednars comment tonight about how life throws you curve balls essentially. The women likely being involved in trafficking could easily just be a pure coincidence that had nothing to do with Val himself.

I can just say that Nuke can go f*** himself. Selfish idiotic moron. He was one of my favorite players on the team from day 1 and I dont think I want to see him in Avs jersey or NHL ever again. Also his contract should be terminated. To do this shit in PO and to sabotage his team like that should be unforgivable. It is not just his absence in the lineup, but also the psychological effect on the team that he completelty destoyed. I would never guessed but that guy turned out to be a complete cancer for the team.

Now it's ok to speculate? We have your permission now that you have done it?

How quickly people turn on the players despite no knowledge of what Val is going through. Unbelievable the outrage and vitriol hurled his way without an ounce of information worth anything. Im reserving judgement until I find out what is happening because calling for contract terminations and referring to him as a cancer when he could be in a very dark place mentally or otherwise is pretty f***ed up to me. The raw emotion of losing the series is fair, but you can't pin the loss entirely on him.

I am pretty sure Nuke will never play again in the NHL. 100% not with the Avs. His incident just cost them the playoffs.
I think it definitely might have cost them the first round. Anyone thinking the way this team was playing and with the bodies we are missing were going to get to the cup finals is delusional and I even as a homer for this team could see that wasn't happening.

I don't know what happened and I want everything to be ok for him. I love Val as a player and I don't know who in the league you could replace him with yet alone would even be available. At the end of the day this is a business and unless he just flat out didn't want to play then he should be welcomed back in my mind.

He put himself in that situation. He gets full blame.

Sure. Speculation does nothing but help us comfort ourselves over the mystery.
But while it's possible that Nichushkin comes out of this redeemed, it's highly unlikely.

Interesting little story that in hindsight now makes me wonder.

I was at the Jan 12 Avs vs Hawks game in Chicago. I wore my Makar jersey and had pretty good seats. A woman sitting behind complemented my Jersey and we chatted a bit. She had some relation to Makar (family friend or something)

During the game she was chatting with a woman next to her. The other woman was saying how they missed Nuke and hes a good player etc.. The woman with the Makar connection said something along the lines that Nuke wasnt really missed and some issues in the room.

My wife was kinda shocked and asked me why she would say that. I just blew it off at the time and said it wasnt true and that the boys seem to love him and he was respected for being a hard worker etc...

Who knows what was going on but its been in my head ever since this news broke.

Interesting... based on how the locker room seems to be from the outside it sounds like there would be some commitment issues. At least based on potential speculation based on the information we have regarding Nukes incident.
