Oh wow, you guys only have 21 bodies total
Yep, 13 forwards, 6 defencemen and 2 goalies. Only 6 defensemen is a huge concern.Oh wow, you guys only have 21 bodies total

Quick question Dog. If the owner grants your wish and the team is sold and moved to another city will you still call your self Dog Fan?The team is playing well! Our 16 and 17 year olds are playing above expectations and I have to believe it's the coaching. #SELLTHETEAM I can't wait to win the lottery so I can buy this team from this plug.
Why would theyQuick question Dog. If the owner grants your wish and the team is sold and moved to another city will you still call your self Dog Fan?
Three Dog ask Dog Fan. He is the one advocating they sell. I just wanted to ask him if they did move would he still support the team and call himself Dog Fan. He has to take a move into consideration if the team was sold. Watching the Ice Dogs they have a great arena and fan base. They aren't going anywhere. Why would they

Easy to understand the frustration with the owners Dog. Fans do deserve better for sure. When the fans foot the bill they should get more respect and do what right for the community. Nothing worse than someone profiting off the backs of hard working people.I understand the risk but I can't sit back and watch this crap
They sold the team to someone who can't afford it. The team will be gone soon if we stay with the status quo.
Yes, Boudreau has them playing well. I know when you are in 20th place in a 20 team league you can't say you have an easy schedule coming up but we do play Barrie, Oshawa, Peterborough and Kingston (who we've played well against) quite a few times...and except for Erie and the Soo we are done with the west.Just realized, 7 out of the last possible 8 pts. Nice.
The IceDogs signed a 20 year lease in 2014 when they moved into the new arena. The CAO of St. Catharines was in the media when the Burke's put the team up for sale and said the team is locked in for the 20 years. But putting that aside, I would prefer the team move and then the city try to attract another team. Attendance is down 1300/game from the 2019-20 season (the last year the old owners owned the team minus the COVID year) and many have said they are not renewing their season tickets next season. I think the team is dying a slow death right now.Easy to understand the frustration with the owners Dog. Fans do deserve better for sure. Dog Fan, I have heard two different stories. One is the IceDogs owner (DD) went in debt up to his eyeballs to buy the team and with the loan repayments, he can't afford to run the team properly.I understand the risk but I can't sit back and watch this crap

Why wouldn’t they renew team is improvingThe IceDogs signed a 20 year lease in 2014 when they moved into the new arena. Might be a combo of the two. Having lots of cash to run a GOJHL team is a whole different ballgame then having lots of cash as an OHL owner..Dog Fan, I have heard two different stories. But I have also heard the DD has lots of cash but bought the team to squeeze every drop of profit from it.
Do you know for sure if it's the first one? (no cash to run the team)
Good post. Sheds light on the situation none of us really know anything about. Most of us really haven't got an idea of what goes on behind scenes of the teams we cheer for around the league. Yet we make assumptions about the situation with Niagara. The Niagara area is no different than any other district in Ontario. They have the population and fan base to fill an OHL arena. Hopefully they straighten out the issues going forward. The IceDogs signed a 20 year lease in 2014 when they moved into the new arena.
