Just to clarify NHL Center Ice is still around? I get that through my Fios. But with ESPN+ can get it on my TV, computer, tablet, phone and the subscription is only 69.99 a year? That is a steal. I will discontinue Center Ice then.

Verizon Unlimited is a lot of $, especially if you don't normally use much data. I looked into that recently, and they told me it costs $75/phone line with unlimited data. If you have a family of four, thats $300/month for unlimited.

I'm curious if the perk you mentioned applies if only a single person in the house hold chooses the unlimited data option.

Single line yeah. My wife has a company cell and the kids aren’t old enough yet. So yeah. A lot depends on your situation

It's more that Yonder.tv will need to change things on their end to make sure it works with ESPN+ instead of NHL.tv.

This. I also emailed YonderTV about this on Friday and have not heard back yet. Maybe if we all put some pressure on them, we can get a response? But they should be on top of this if they want to keep their hockey customers.

We have 5 lines with insurance plans on 3 of them. Our total is about $325/mo. Kids are adults and reimburse me their portion. Getting the Disney+ package save us money as we were able to drop stand alone Disney+ and Hulu and now also have ESPN+.

Are there any promos for ESPN+ right now? Or should I just wait until it gets closer to the season? Or does anyone know if rates will go up?

Rates just went up in the last 30-60 days. The annual price will be the same until they announce another price increase.

NHL Center Ice is very poorly ran product.

Every season there is almost no info about it until like the day of the season.. at least that's how it is on Cablevision. Hell I don't even know if they offer it anymore, it's so hard to find any info and last year I could never find the channels on my box.

I switched to NHL.tv years ago. So much better, as you said you could watch it on any of your devices. ESPN + replaces that, and is much cheaper. Absolute steal. Wish I got it for the $60 a year before the increase but $70 is fine.

My NHL package auto-renews and I noticed a significant price drop. Wondering if they're missing any games now.
Sorry if I'm late to the party, but are there games not on regular ESPN (ESPN+?) that won't be included in the NHL Package on DirecTV?

I think it's similar to how NHL.tv was
There are nationally broadcast games that will be on ESPN that will be blacked out on ESPN+ (just like NBC games were blacked out on NHL.tv) and things like that

Yeah, in a lot of ways, nothing has really changed. It's exactly the same calculation as it was for as long as NHL.tv has existed (and GameCenter Live before that). You're just substituting "NHL.tv" for "ESPN+" and "NBCSN/NBC" for "ESPN/ABC/TNT"

Well one wildcard is, will there be net more or less "national games" with the ESPN + TNT + ABC framework vs NBCSN + NBC? Especially impacts NYR fans as they are frequently on national TV.

any ideas if games on ESPN+ can be watched from the beginning after puck-drop, just like you could if you had DVR'd the games and started watching an hour after the start.

The only thing I miss about Center Ice is that they carried the After Hours show on CBC after the late Saturday games. I loved that show. Scott Oake did the best interviews. Hopefully ESPN+ will include that feature.

So I just activated ESPN+ and tested this with a live soccer game. It did let you start from the beginning, but you had to manually rewind to the start of the stream. Didn't see a "start from beginning" option.

Though, there is the option to turn off scores for live events. Already turned that off.

Center Ice offered the first few games for free as a preview and enticement to sign up. That's all I can remember about Center Ice, other than games were both on SD and HD channels on your television provider.

Can someone assist me - I want to watch all Rangers games and I live in California near the kings and sucks. What specifically do I need to buy to watch that? It’s unclear with the changes to versus and espn plus etc …

Does anyone outside the metro area use msg plus? I could use my parents

I live in central Maine and for the last few years have used NHL.tv. With the NHL.tv having the live content moved to ESPN+, I have the Disney bundle (Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+) and there does not appear to be any additional charge for the NHL games and I have been watching that closely. I am also going to have sling tv with the ESPN package since some games will be only on TNT or ESPN channels. Some games may be blacked out if they are available on local sports channels, but I will cross that bridge this season when I come to it. In the past, I just had to get a little creative.

I hope this helps!

ok so if I have the ESPN + and also NHL center ice I shouldn't be blacked out from any games?

Where do you live?

(Edit) Never mind - Los Angeles

So, if the tea leaves are being read right, you'd be blacked out of Rangers/Kings games (or whoever your "local" team is), possibly Rangers/SJ and possibly Rangers/Anaheim. Those would be broadcast locally and wouldn't be on either Center Ice or ESPN+ presumably.

Center Ice doesn’t give you anything that ESPN+ doesn’t.

Once again, you need three things. And this goes for ALL out of market watchers. Doesn’t matter which one.

1.) ESPN+ OR Center Ice
2.) A way to watch ESPN, TNT and ABC (cable package OR live streaming service like Hulu Live, Sling, etc)
3.) A way to watch your local regional sports network. If you’re in LA, you’ll need a way to watch Fox Sports West. If you’re in Colorado, you’ll need a way to watch Altitude Sports. Could be cable. Some of those are on streaming services as well. Also, since this one is so few games, it might be worth watching at a bar. I’ve done that a bunch here in NC for Hurricanes games.

It's amazing that it's this hard to watch sports
