I believe there is also a bundle available to get Hulu, Disney +, and ESPN +

Think it’s a really good package deal. I’m not ashamed to say rewatching some old Disney afternoon cartoons like Tale Spin, lol.

Disney+ has kick ass content. Espn+ too. I watch tons of mid major college bball and soccer. The bundle is a complete steal.

For those of you that have Verizon Wireless, a few of the unlimited plans also come with the Disney bundle (including ESPN+) at no extra cost. It's not the trial 1 year type either.

That is the closest I've seen to explicitly confirming that the NHL out-of-market games will not be an add-on within ESPN+. This has been the big question since the announcement, and no one has addressed it directly. However, that really does indicate that the $6.99 per month/$69.99 per year gets you all out-of-market games since it's the price they're showing us and the terms don't mention anything about additional charges.

At that price, there's really no need to worry about single team package vs full package. The last full season we had, the single team package was $115.99 and the full package was $144.99. The new pricing is WAY better.

Let's hope the availability of home/away and nearly every game stays the same as well. I have my doubts.

I haven't been following what's going on with the TV package year. How do I watch the games in Canada?

We can't get ESPN+ as far as I know.

Not sure if this was mentioned but if you have an unlimited data plan through Verizon this ESPN+, Disney, Hulu bundle is included in your plan at no (extra) charge.

If you have Verizon it might be worth it to go for the unlimited plan and get all 4 things, if the billing makes sense.

How do I connect all this? I have a Verizon Unlimited plan.

Got it. Fortunately my son was around to help. All set, thanks.

I had NHL.tv for 4-5 years and they would send an email about the card on file being charged by a certain date if you didn't cancel. The NHL never had much communication with their customers. Usually it was about money.

The NHL did put their notice on the website. A few weeks ago, I was checked the NHL website on my phone and the ESPN+ pop up ad came up saying ESPN+ was now the home of the NHL. It did explain what was going on.

Yes, I had NHL.TV for the same length of time and got those emails too. Your second statement confirms that customer service and communications is lacking. Not the right way to do business.

is there a TV schedule that has been released yet about what games will be "national" games and therefor blacked out?

Any idea if VPNs will let you bypass blackouts on ESPN+?

I used YonderTV the last two years on NHL.tv and it worked great.

Hoping that is still the case, because I hate having a monthly bill in cable just to watch the Rangers and the occasional Knicks/Yankees game.

Don't see why not, though as always it depends on what device you're on.

To get all the games, you're probably going to need some kind of cable package though so you can get the games on ESPN and TNT.

Long time NHL.TV guy here who lives in Buffalo. With it being done with, is ESPN+ and Hulu tv going to be enough for me to watch every Ranger game? I Live in Buffalo. Any help is appreciated.

I think a major thing that needs to be clarified with all this. NHL.tv and ESPN+ were run by the same company: Disney Streaming Services. Because of that, NHL.tv isn't so much done with as it is being folded in to ESPN+. Basically, everything that was true about NHL.tv should be true about ESPN+, plus all the other content you'll get with ESPN+.

For your situation, in order to get every single game:
-With your ESPN+ subscription, you'll get all non-national out-of-market games plus all of the national games that are exclusive to ESPN+/Hulu. That will include every Rangers game that fits this criteria.
-You'll need something that includes regular ESPN, ABC, and TNT for any nationally broadcast Rangers games on those channels. Hulu Live TV will get you there, though there are other options (like Sling).
-You'll need something to stream MSG directly for any games against the Sabres that are not national games, because those will be blacked out on ESPN+.

Perfect, that's essentially what I did last year. Thank you.

Yeah, in a lot of ways, nothing has really changed. It's exactly the same calculation as it was for as long as NHL.tv has existed (and GameCenter Live before that). You're just substituting "NHL.tv" for "ESPN+" and "NBCSN/NBC" for "ESPN/ABC/TNT"

With the added bonus that I have a Verizon unlimited plan and no longer have to pay for NHL.tv, or Hulu, or Disney+

First time I can remember saving money with all this TV nonsense

I used YonderTV too and it was perfectas well. But it isn't a VPN, it is a DNS server which is very different in terms of specifics but allowed the same end goal. YonderTV was made with NHLTV and MLBTV in mind so unless they update something I am doubting it would work with ESPN+

Verizon Unlimited is a lot of $, especially if you don't normally use much data. I looked into that recently, and they told me it costs $75/phone line with unlimited data. If you have a family of four, thats $300/month for unlimited.

I'm curious if the perk you mentioned applies if only a single person in the house hold chooses the unlimited data option.

So, you think ESPN+ will not allow you to update your DNS server?

If YonderTV isn't a good option, does anyone know of any alternatives/VPNs that will allow to bypass blackout in local area?

I tried ExpressVPN and it never worked, despite setting it to a different territory, because the NHL app required GPS to be turned on, it always recognized me in the blackout area w/ the GPS. If you turn off the GPS, the NHL app didn't even work.

I was watching Ranger games on my PS5 this year with Yonder TV. Was hoping to find a solution for this season.

Take this for whatever it's worth-- you can buy a nice Android TV box like the Shield TV for $150, or off-brand ones for as low as $30. NordVPN and ExpressVPN both have apps that work natively on Android TV. TV boxes don't have GPS and apps like ESPN don't look for it as a result.

Also, side note if you happen to be in Europe, NFL Gamepass International is a really good deal and you can sideload the APK even though it's not a native TV app.
