@NikC and everyone else concerned about this...
If you log in to ESPN+ now, you'll see Thursday's game against Dallas and Saturday's game against Montreal in the upcoming NHL schedule. These are not ESPN+ exclusive, but rather part of the out-of-market package.
They also show 6:30 start times, but these are regular 7pm starts... I interpret that to mean we're getting the pre-game shows.
Thank you, i really appreciate you following up... these two games were already listed as part of the 13 ESPN+ games
Would you mind sending me what you’re seeing as the list? I’m curious what the other 11 are.
What s surprise?! Day 1 of the season and ESPN is experiencing “technical” problems with the stream in “some regions”. What a proper cluster f#ck….
What are you actually seeing on-screen?
OK, so this is a simple explanation (and I believe someone else might have mentioned something along these lines already).
The 7 games on ESPN+ that aren't in October are national broadcasts. The 6 games that are in October are not. Those are part of the out-of-market package. Notice how the 7 national ESPN+ broadcasts also say either Hulu or ABC, but the October ESPN+ games do not.
They're releasing which games will be on ESPN+ on a monthly basis because the NHLN schedule gets released on a monthly basis. Any game on NHLN isn't going to be on ESPN+, which is the same way it was for NHL.tv until last year. The November schedule for NHLN isn't out yet, so the ESPN+ schedule for November isn't out yet either. Ditto December, January, etc. That will probably be the last week of October.
That link is further confirmation to me that the whole out-of-market package will be on ESPN+.
A spinning “buffer” icon for almost 30mins before I gave up. The workaround for us in Australia involves a Fetch box, and a Foxtel subscription then an ESPN subscription. To top it all off if you have it on a device such as iPhone or iPad it won’t let you cast it to your tv or even mirror your screen. Truly a retrograde step. Hope everyone else is having a better experience….
Thank you sir.
What service streams games from NHLN... do you know?
Opening night not on ESPN+. Dammit.
Yeah I just learned this the hard way when I went to view the game just now on the android app.... Tried to search for the game and wasn't seeing it, then I scrolled down the list of available games and saw 'NYR/WSH' and started viewing with a sigh of relief - then Sam & Joe came on and started talking about Quinn and 4 games left in the season. Son of a b----

Does anyone know if these games will be viewable/accessible on ESPN+ maybe 48 hours after they've aired? Who would benefit from withholding the streams from later being viewed if the NHL isn't going to host its own streaming service anymore? Apologies if this has already been discussed...
Hit me up if you need streams.
Apologies if this has been covered - just found out that xfinity and msg are in a dispute so they aren't carrying msg right now. Any idea where else I can watch the games (via stream or otherwise) if I am in-market?
I believe 48 hours is how it will be, which is how it was with NBCSN. OTOH, this is the first time this is being hosted within a branded competitor to another broadcaster, so maybe not? We'll see.
Just realised f...ing Sky Sports in Germany/Austria/etc. is showing over 300 games, playoffs and finals... damn. Not paying for another subscription service.
They're showing the Leafs - Canadiens game on Sky Sports ... tested on nhl.tv to see if I can stream it... "You do not have access to view this content. To watch live games and learn more about blackout restrictions, please visit NHL.TV."
Time to start looking for a "solution"... bastards.
