I ended up paying full price yesterday 249.99 for sn+ . I figured I could curb some spending to make up for the lack of promo .

does anyone know where all the team icons are which you can cllik in order to bring you to said teams dedicated page that has their own highlights and older games ?

its only showing the Canadian team logos and Utah's while on Firestick and actual website . I had to use the search box / type in Islanders to find isles related things .

and yes , I realize they do not archive many games anymore - the isles page is only showing 3 .
Same on my end re: team icons. From what I can tell, the archive only goes back one week now. Huge downgrade from last season.

Anyone know what crappy software nhl.tv use to insert the dynamic ads on the boards when in main camera view? Asking for a friend that wants to send them a wheelbarrow of horse manure...

Quality has been great when the dynamic ads are broken! Also when using the other camera views. Ad version is the same flickering mess it's always been (Now you see the puck, now you don't. Oh, his leg disappeared mid stride in the ozone, hope he feels better soon.)

Sorry for the rant. Just amazed that not more people here complain.

does anyone else find that when clicking on some games from the day before while using SN+ the choice is ''resume game'' and when you click on that its at some random point in the typical 3-4 hour window a game is ?

for example the nyi vs edm game was too late for me so I watched it when I woke up this morning and it was at ''resume'' which was at some random point around 1 hr in instead of ''watch'' which would start it from beginning .

just wondering if my account is hacked and being used by someone elsewhere

Does anyone know why Caps-Leafs game is blacked out on ESPN+? I'm in NY but I've tried to change my location with VPN to Chicago and LA, the game is still blacked out.

Yup, for some reason I can’t watch it either and it shouldn’t be blacked out here

this seems to have been fixed as all nhl teams appeared this morning instead of just the canadian ones + utah

Last night about 7pm, I was on the phone with ESPN talking to one of their backroom staff about this Toronto/Caps blackout problem: About 5 minutes later she became aware of other staff members in the office responding to many sudden phone calls on this same blackout problem. Moments later, she said we now see what happened, and it will be fixed shortly...with our apologies. So, it was human error.
A few minutes later, the blackout was lifted, and I was able to watch about 80% of a great game and a great overtime!

Does anyone know if ESPN+ works in Australia or any other options to watch games?

It's technically only avaiable inside the US, it uses IP address to determine location.

So you'd need to go through a VPN to obtain an american ip address to get access to it from Australia or any other country.

Looks like NHL.tv is available in Australia

There's been a lot of threads about it, most people are desensitized to it at this point.

Maybe someone can eventually develop an Adblocker for cleaning up live picture/video with those ads in real time that can run on TV/display device.

VPN is no longer a full proof solution, as they also use geo location s/w.

I noticed Center Ice in Canada seems now to be showing both feeds for many games. This is a good thing because to be honest I am sick of some other teams announcers and would rather listen to my homer teams announcers.

I get my Local provider in Thunder Bay(Tbaytel). I don't believe it was like this last year(I got Sportsnet+ the past few years because i wanted multiple feeds but Sportsnet got rid of that last year)

Utterly disgusted that an Oilers - Leafs Hockey Night in Canada ended up on this train wreck of a network. Way to kill our traditions, NHL Network. Isn’t there a Wild or Blues game you can show instead?

Never heard of that but seems like it might be a thing.

But it wouldn't impact Smart TVs, Casting Devices, Computers etc. which is what most people watch, those don't have GPS modules.

An easy workaround on mobile/tablet would be go through a web browser instead of the app, the web browser won't be able to obtain or verify your location by gps.

Ya GPS is one of the methods,
Also use cell tower triangulation , so likely cells are out.

Not sure if there is other data in the metadata , that they access to determine location.

ESPN+ is a gigantic ripoff if you live in market and the content on it doesn't justify the 10 dollar price tag. I really don't like this ESPN deal. NBC did it better.

Seems like ESPN just wants to paywall games behind their crappy service nobody uses, games that were always on NBCSN in the past

Isn't that how the cops trace a cellphone lol, 'cuz they are in bed with all the cell companies. Im not sure how these streaming apps would be able to do anything like that.

if you're on a PC with a full blown OS, your browser could potentially send it's lcoation and be tracked that way but if you're even alittle savy, you can turn tracking/cookies and all that stuff off pretty easily.

also i just thought of, you probably woldn' tbe able to pay for a service like ESPN+ with a credit card tied to a non US bank/zip code. but looks like they accept paypal so should be able to get aroudn that easily too.

without overcomplicationg, i think a vpn is mostly good enough, you might need a tinker here or there but should work.

There is also wifi triangulation, along with other methods.
They are much smarter now, with their methods, VPN might work for some applications, but the smarter companies can get around that now.

If you use the same company for ISP as access to watch games, they already know where you are, if watching through that access point.

ISP knows where you are they just can’t sniff the traffic,
Anyone can look at the metadata, that knows how.
