So I cancelled DirecTV and subscribed to the Hulu Live, Disney+, ESPN+ bundle. The irony is I’ll be able to watch every game except the local team, Colorado Avalanche, thanks to the Kroenkes inability to allow any streamers to carry Altitude. I guess they don’t want my money.

ahh , thats good to know . It seems petty to complain about but sites suggest using a challenging password that include uppercase , numbers , symbols etc that would be a pain to punch in .

let us know when you find the area to actually purchase nhl live through sportsnet/rogers . I've noted earlybird is 179 which is 30 cheaper than bell.

consider me back in the fence
If this is shit I am blaming you and @Scandale du Jour

I used to watch on Roku for years and it never logged me out in bw sessions. Roku also has an phone app (android for sure, not sure about IOS) which can act as a remote with a keyboard so you can enter text easily when needed.

NHL TV on Roku logged me out every game for the first several games last season. I called NHL TV to complain and they told me to de-install and reinstall the NHL TV app and log in again. Once I did that, the app never logged me out again.

I messed around with it off and on yesterday watching parts of games from last season and there was some lagging ? buffering? so I might need to upgrade internet I guess . However later in the day there were no issues

my service is ''internet 350 fibre link'' with eastlink so you'd think that should be enough to stream hockey with 350 mbps download

350mbps is awesome fast, so you don't need to upgrade your internet service. Rebooting the router will clean things out and restore your full speed. Use speedtest.net to test your actual down/up speed.

Sorry if I missed it but what is the current situation for people outside of US?

I'm in Australia (yes there are a handful of us that watch it down here!) and was charged $210 bucks from the auto debit thing they do for NHL.tv

Do I pursue a refund for this?

Is there a program for peasants like us or are we unworthy?

Fellow Aussie here. As far as I've been able to determine, you should still get the exact same service this year as you got last, and still via NHL TV.

buffering seemed better yesterday after rebooting router . I used a speed test site and it comes back anywhere from 220 to 318 mbps . I even called cable co. and then said my package is more than enough to stream live hockey

I’ve had Center Ice for years now even at a discounted rate. Will it still be cheaper to just get ESPN+? I already have a login for Hulu.
I recently paid $70 for a year subscription of ESPN+.

Used to pay $140 for Center Ice (but now I believe here in the States Center Ice has been heavily discounted).

It's 5.99 per month for ESPN+. If you kept it until the playoffs kick in, which is when games usually go to cable and network stations, it should come to around 50 dollars for the season. You're not getting Center Ice discounted that much.

Last August ESPN+ increased their prices to $6.99/month, and $69.99/year, plus taxes and fees. For my location, the taxes and fees are +14%. It's still a pretty good pkg with the wide array of sports events offered by ESPN+, and I plan to sign up for the year deal at the start of the NHL season. Those considering Center Ice should make sure they know the coverage differences (if any) between CI and ESPN+, TNT, ABC, etc.

Apologies for my misinformation. I'm bundled in with Disney and Hulu so I missed that increase. Regardless, it's still a hell of a deal.

Home AND away feeds on ESPN+ right?

Yeah, should be. They even had the U.S. and Canadian feeds available for replays of playoff games this year, since they already had those available through ESPN+, so no reason they couldn't do the same now. And I believe they have home and away available for MLS, too, with their package.

I like center ice because it's convenient. It pretty much has to be offered much cheaper now that ESPN+ is a thing.

What was it for you last year?

Last year it was $92 because of the shortened season and $116 the year before that.

I’ve had CI for so long that it would feel weird not to have it. Plus I’d still have the ability to dvr. I was seriously considering getting ESPN+ for this season, but for $47 I’m more than happy to keep CI.

Where have you seen this? We're not listed as an available location for NHL.tv, it only shows Australia for the ESPN app, and I haven't been able to get any info from them at all about what their streaming will look like. Your answer seems much better!

So I’m jumping into this a bit late, if anyone could explain to me would be great

I just signed up for ESPN+. I previously used NHL.TV and my cable (Xfinity) login for games on NBC and NHL Network. What else do I need to do in order to stream every game besides local (I’ve got that covered)?

I would like to know this as well.
ESPN+ has taken over NHL TV - so every out of market game (that is not on TNT/TBS) will be covered and both home/away feeds should be available unless it's a Saturday night and it's Hockey Night in Canada then there's likely 1 English and 1 French feed.

Your cable package will provide the TNT/TBS games as well as if you choose to watch the games on ESPN/ESPN2 (but since you can stream ESPN+ you can watch the games on ESPN/ESPN2 as well).

I dumped DirecTV a few weeks ago and switched over to YouTube TV via a Roku set up and paid the yearly fee of $70 for ESPN+ (YouTube TV is $58 per month but it includes the programming that I generally watch and it's much cheaper than DirecTV).

I've had NHL Center Ice since 1999 - it'll be interesting how things will be going forward with ESPN+.

Thank you, so how do I watch the TNT/TBS games online? That’s how it was with NBC, I would have to go to NBC.com and do the stream through there when games were on NBC/NBCSN.

So basically all games will be on ESPN+, besides local and TNT/TBS?

I can stream the TNT/TBS games via YouTube TV (they carry the networks and local TV just like you would find with a subscription to any cable/satellite service).

I'm not sure if you would be able to stream TNT/TBS games via your Xfinity account, but if I were a betting man I'd say that you'll be able to do so like you had done previously with games on NBC/NBCSN, but I would contact Xfinity to be certain.

So I can but it won’t let me screen record and make GIFs. That’s the issue for me. ESPN+ allows me to do that, I already checked, but I’m trying to make sure I can do with the games on TNT like I could on NBC.

Does YouTube TV allow that?

I honestly don't know - if you have a YouTube channel/account I'd assume you might be able to with YouTube TV.
