Updated app still sucks. Watched a game, had to stop after two periods. Was not able to watch the rest, app claimed I wasn't signed in, though I of course was. And yes, that's the updated version of the app...
 
But the app works a litle bit better now or not ?
the past two islander games were much better stream quality than the first game v.s fla which was terrible . also re-watched buf vs edm yesterday afternoon without issues .

Looks like you can add me to the list of angry NHL TV email senders. Only one feed for last night's Avalanche game again and it went straight from the end of the 2nd to 1:30 left in the 3rd.
 
I think the problem was that the NHL felt they had to scale and do it fast without working out the kinks.

The new app is a bit cumbersome and NHL support is terrible. I didn't even know they changed it to NHLTV. It's almost like they decided to start from ground 0 and start fresh. Basically forgetting about their current customer base.

I think that part of the partnerships with ESPN, TNT etc etc said that the NHL can't have the ability to watch games form the home page because the networks probably thought that it would take away from viewers....which is why they opted to create NHLTV.

I hope we see improvement soon..

Does anyone know if they moved off of Neulion?

I can confirm this particular issue. This is utterly pathetic.
 
Got an email back after describing the various problems in here and with the Avalanche/Jets game, and mentioned that I've been using NHL TV since 2016-17 (and that all of my problems were with NHL TV, not hardware or software or connectivity

It's a new system so it's not going to be perfect, so hopefully it improves. It's just a shame that they launched the service a day before the season started.

It was a wise decision to only use the montly subscription. I just cancelled mine.

Cancelling was not easy, either. The subscription was not displayed on my web login. Futher, it was not displayed as an in app purchase in the Google Play Store. To cancel, I had to use the NHL.TV Chat Bot. It can be run using this page:


In the lower right corner, there is a question mark symbol. Use it to start the "conversation" with the bot. I typed in the phrase "cancel my subscription" to start the "conversation." I was then asked to provide my receipt number, which starts with a T. Thankfully, I still had the confirmation email. Otherwise, I would not have known how to cancel the subsricption in a reliable way.

Of course, I saved screenshots of the chat conversation. The chat bot did confirm that my subscription was cancelled succesfully. Incredible stuff!

the nhltv is such a joke. last night's feed from montreal - arizona game didn't have commentators on the sn feed so i had to watch in french. oh, and also the feed was cut short with 3 minutes remaining. what a bunch of morons. i thought it coudn't be worse service than last year.

Did you also find that there was double audio on the English feed? You could hear sometimes the refs/players yelling and the a second or two later the same thing. And it was definitely the same audio, this wasn't just a sync issue (though the first Audio was ahead of the video because I was hearing goal horns and cheering before any goals actually went in).

yes, i thought there were two national anthem singers.
 
Relief. I'm finally seeing some stability with my NHLTV on computer. Aside from FINALLY being able to access live feeds, I'm getting in between period content and even commercials today, not that abrupt cut to a zamboni still image when it's a commercial break. Seems they are working out the rest of the kinks. Certainly seems like they slapped together a very lame product for opening night that didn't work for thousands of people. But it seems like it's turned a corner now. (exhales)

Yeah last night's Avalanche game was also the full broadcast with adverts as well. Still only one broadcast feed though.

Ed - I should add I was able to watch this the morning after and I don't think I should have been. The game was on Premier Sports which should have had it blacked out.

After I missed a few games because of illness, I am at last able to watch another game (Min at Bos).

Will the feed tap out after two periods with error #600, as usual? I don't know, probably.
But lucky me (/S), I found another bug with the NHL TV app! "Error #210, local stream not available".

NHL TV app, the "gift" that keeps on giving. And the NHL still hasn't fixed anything.
 
Aaaaand the NHL “rectified“ the issue with Boston‘s home stream not working: they canceled the stream altogether! Bold move: watch it on Minnesota‘s feed or don‘t watch it at all, mister! Lol.

I don't get the app. Watched the rest of the Bruins. Can watch Senators. But Oilers game? App informs me I'm not singed in. I switched to the browser, where it works.
 
Only the home feed for the Avalanche/Las Vegas game. Back to no adverts or intermission stuff. 2nd intermission break ended and returned to the game with 16:19 left in the period.

Ed - after finishing the game it autoplayed a 'Next Video'... which was the away feed. As far as I can tell I can't... okay either I'm dumb or the page layout for NHL TV is REALLY dumb. If you click on the Schedule tab you can pick between different broadcasts, if you just go to the game highlights at the bottom of the homepage you only get the home feed, I'm assuming. This makes... sense.

Is it just me or is the video quality not as good this year as it used to be with Rogers Gamecenter or whatever the branding was?
Like I feel like its crappy resolution.
 
Ok, so I watched the Islander game just now. The game is over. This is the FIRST time they showed the postgame show . It's Normal for other teams, but Isles games, when the game ends, so does the broadcast...

NOW, I watched the postgame...cool..great.. after the postgame show....I'm watching a POKER tournament on NHLTV!??? WTF is going on? Televised poker on NHLTV
