Is SN now the only way in Canada to legally stream games now?
I’m a Bruins fan without cable, last year nhl.tv/gamecenter had a solid 80% ish of the games I’d say. Only games blacked out were tsn I think
Debating about what to do this year
Sadly, I think so. Not sure why the NHL makes it so difficult for us to give them mkney to watch hockey.

GameCentre should still be available in Canada but not NHL Live. So you can choice between Game Centre or Sportsnet Now. Game Centre doesn't have games on demand. You would have PVR the games you want. SportsNet is streaming and has games on demand.
I'm not sure what Gamecenter is. Is it just another name for NHL.tv/nhl live?

Never heard of gamecentre in Canada, sure it’s not a US thing.
If Canadian which broadcaster puts that out.

the stream quality of the 2 leaf games and the bos-pha game wasnt that great on sn now

its hard to describe whats happening because it wasnt laggy or buffering but it still wasnt 100% smooth like nhllive quality

What's up with NHL.tv? I mean, they're taking their time. No renewal email yet, the website just says info coming soon. Can't watch last season's games nor preseason games. Disappointing.

If you're in Canada, it's now with Sportsnet Now Premium I believe. In the states, maybe check ESPN+.

Well, if you're in Europe then that seems to be the same thing for all of us.

They give no details, they updated that page/app on Friday and no games can be watched anymore etc.

Maybe it has to do with them potentially buying out Sinclair(Bally Sports, if I understood correctly) and then re-structuring things.

Though, it's quite amateurish and disappointing as they don't give any informations at all why we're already in the preseason.

Yea, I’m based in Europe (Czech Republic). Was hoping to catch some preseason games :/

They don’t have much time left, I’m expecting more info next week.

So what’s the deal with Sportsnet Now Premium? I thought it had all the games. It doesn’t seem to have any out of market games on today?

It’s also really annoying that I have to choose NHL every time and scroll through the menus. I don’t care about any of the other leagues. Is there no way to setup the App so that it always just automatically starts the NHL section?

Thanks for the heads up. LOL, Definitely didn't subscribe last year w/ telus as I was with Shaw. Will keep on trying daily though.
Quick update:

I chatted with an Telus Agent online and the problem was that the Appointment to get everything set up (optik tv, internet, etc) wasn't changed to completed and was still at pending. Once that was completed, I was able to order NHL Center ice.

Already loving it as I can watch the Oilers play the Jets via the TSN feed.

f***ing BS. I thought SN Now was supposed to have all out of market games????? I paid $199 for a game that they’re not even showing. f*** I hate Rogers, They can get f***ed!!!!!!!!

There's a "favorite" option that you can select for teams and leagues - that as far as I can tell doesn't even do anything at all :help:

Regarding game availability, I seem to remember with previous years of NHL Live that not all preseason games were available for whatever reason. I assume everything will be there once the regular season starts. (But with Sportsnet, who knows)

If the Game had a feed it was shown on NHL.TV

For instance. Tonight Oilers game was on TSN and was available on NHL.TV but Sportsnet did not show it

I was able to watch the Oiler game on Centre Ice (Shaw). Looks like it might be free for the pre-season?

Center Ice is the Cable equivalent of NHL.TV
In canada NHL.TV is no longer available and you must now only use Sportnet Now Premium. Sportsnet Premium was supposed to just integrate NHL.TV into their streaming service.

Unfortunately Sportnet Now Streaming sucks and is not offering what NHL.TV offers

I guess sn now isnt obligated to air any u.s verses u.s televised exhb games unless they feel like it .

They've already charged my credit card....haven't tried to watch anything though.

Very weird... Where are you from?
I'm not sure anymore whether I canceled auto subscription or not, but my card wasn't charged.

I'm a bit concerned since NHL.TV is no more for Canada, it might get canceled for Europe as well... Would be a disaster!

So far the "Where to stream" site (which has been updated for 2022-23 season) lists NHL.tv for majority of Europe.

But I agree, this time it's been very suspicious. Since NHL.tv started, I have been able to use my subscription to watch the games from the previous season and from the pre-season until October 1st every year, and the new subscription has started on October 1st (excluding the seasons affected by Covid) either automatically or by renewing manually without missing a single game.

I have sent multiple messages to NHL.tv support via different channels. Usually they answer within 3 days, but this time it's been a total silence.

Likely a bitrate issue.

SN now app is horrible.

My guess – the only possible explanation I can see for the failure to announce NHL.tv pricing for the new season – is that pressure is being exerted by stupid TV channels to reintroduce blackouts throughout Europe, and NHL.tv tries to resist those demands. Because if there are constant blackouts, who would purchase an NHL.tv subscription in Europe? I'm definitely canceling my NHL.tv subscription if there are any blackouts whatsoever.

The stupid, greedy TV executives should learn once and for all that streaming is streaming and old-fashioned TV is old-fashioned TV. There should be no relation and dependancy between the two whatsoever. An NHL.tv subscription should be an all-encompassing, universal solution, bringing you each and every game with zero blackouts, period. Yeah, even in America. That's 21st century for you.

Ok Got the low down from a smart Rogers tech.

Sportsnet Now Premium does NOT have the same rights in canada and NHL Live had.

When it comes to watching canadian team in canada and your not in their local viewing area unless Sportsnet has shared rights to broadcast it on their normal tv stations it WILL NOT be streamed.

For instance last night the game Oilers Vs Jets was on TSN 3 which is the local station for all jets games.

The game was not available outside that viewing region on TSN 3 ( Standard Blackout Policy)
The game was available on NHL Center Ice ( Which is the tv subscription service)
The game was NOT available on Sportsnet Now Premium (Streaming service)
The game WAS available on NHL.TV (NHL Live used it as their front end for canadians)

So in short when Rogers Kill NHL Live for Canadians they also killed any in place streaming agreements from previous years
