i want to live in a world where blackouts don't exist.

What dumb concept. Let's block people from consuming our product.

McDonalds doesn't stop me from eating an "out of market" Big Mac.

Hi

Are there any EU users on here which have experience with the NHL.tv subscription and the use of VPN? If so, I have some questions, I would appreciate any reply, thanks.

Registering on NHL.tv does require that you type in your home address? Right?
So what do you guys do when registering? Do you just use a fake address when registering on NHL.tv web site? (That means to use random adresses in the countries of Austria, Scotland, England and so on.)
The reason I ask this is because, If you choose an address in a country that already signed a broadcasting deal with NHL, then surely the administrators can detect it and block your account? And what about payment? Can you pay with a credit card attached to any nationality?

Good questions

I’d assume if using fake address make sure to use a VPN server from that country.

Got an email from NHL live today offering SN Now premium for $179+tax. No code in the email, so I would assume this is for everyone. Still on the fence since I already have SN standard, so it *should* cost me less. Plus need to see how much NHL.TV will cost when I'm in Europe, and if that'll work in Canada using VPN when I get back.

If I remember correctly, I have always used my own street address, but I've just changed the post code, city and country to match the location I'm registering in. No issues with the credit card (Amex).

Trying to order NHL center ice on Telus Optik TV and it won't let me as it says I have a pending order on my account.

Anyone else had this issue? only thing I have is a credit on the account for bundling (switched from Shaw earlier this month).

I think what it means is that they're currently working/finishing center ice and if you had subscribed last season(and didn't cancel) they'll just renew it and deduct the money from your bank account a couple of days later.

I also just checked the app and they finally have the preseason games(starting tomorrow) listed as well.

Thanks for the heads up. LOL, Definitely didn't subscribe last year w/ telus as I was with Shaw. Will keep on trying daily though.

Will there be any preseason games on ESPN+??

They should have all the games that are picked up by local outlets that aren’t on NHL Network (or TNT as they are doing a pre-season double header a week before the season starts). Not every pre-season game is televised though.

This was the case last year so I would assume it is the same this year.

Edit: Looking at the schedule yes, espn+ is picking up the local pre-season feeds to the games televised that aren’t also being picked up by NHLN

I’m in BC. If I get centre ice will I get Nucks blackouts on both sports et and premium channels?

bos vs philly exh. game shows up as a future game on snet now .

isles vs rangers doesnt show yet but its on msg+ so theres no reason not to

Well SporstNet sucks and the NHL doesn't care. They are not showing all the preseason games that are available, just select ones. So we are now getting less games than last year with NHL Live. The NHL really wants people to use illegal streams by allowing this crap to happen. I can't watch the Caps game tomorrow because SporstNet doesn't want to show it. I have been watching for years and now can't. NHL wake up! This is unacceptable that we have no choice but to use illegal streams because the NHL went cheap and bow to SporstNet and the lousy service in Canada.

Is SN now the only way in Canada to legally stream games now?
I’m a Bruins fan without cable, last year nhl.tv/gamecenter had a solid 80% ish of the games I’d say. Only games blacked out were tsn I think
Debating about what to do this year

GameCentre should still be available in Canada but not NHL Live. So you can choice between Game Centre or Sportsnet Now. Game Centre doesn't have games on demand. You would have PVR the games you want. SportsNet is streaming and has games on demand.
