theres 4 years left of the nhl/rogers deal so I would anticipate 4 more seasons of this setup .

I believe rogers is losing money on the nhl deal so I'm not surprised that they shelved nhllive as a cost cutting measure .

can I live with only 1 feed -- yes

can I live with constant lag / buffering -- no

can I live with little or no post game interviews of the isles -- yes , because its just the same old answers from coaches / players anyways .

Got it, I know that was also said about NHL Live, I currently use SN Now with multiple users with no issue so wasn't sure if it has actually been tested/confirmed.
From Sportsnet Now

Can I access Sportsnet NOW from more than one device at a time?

No. Sportsnet NOW is intended for personal use and only allows for one concurrent stream.
A user is able to be authenticated on as many devices as they would like, but can only stream from one device at a time.
portsnet Now web page.

I just picked up a Roku device, but, it doesn't seem like Sportsnet Now is on there. Does anyone knows if there's any easy workaround, or should I keep my old Chromecast for this?

I honestly didn't even consider that Sportsnet wouldn't have it's app on one of the major streaming devices, that I didn't even check.

Just seeing that nhl live is no longer available in Canada. Been using this service for many years. Nhl/Rogers is such trash for treating their loyal customers this way.

Looking for options here. I live in Ontario and watch Oiler games. I almost never watch a game live. Either delayed or next day as I don't care for commercials or intermissions. Some posts mentioned Sn now offers the same pvr functioning as nhl live did, but can anyone confirm? Also, are the options to turn off live scores and make sure games start from the beginning still available?

I have a cable subscription which includes Sportsnet, but I'd be blacked out according the their site (hence the need for nhl live over the past years). I've never used Sn now.

I usually buy nhl live when I'm traveling in sept/Oct as it's cheaper elsewhere. If I purchased it this year, would it work in Canada at all? I wonder if a VPN +nhl live is the better way to go.

My family has a home in the US. Would an espn+ package be a better route, again, how would that work when watching in Canada?

Why do these idiots make it so hard for us to PAY THEM TO WATCH HOCKEY?

it sucks that theres no SN app for roku because the user interface is easier to navigate than firesticks .

I switched my 3 rokus to firestick lites ; so far so good with SN through the sticks . I paid 34$ each . I suppose you can get them cheaper at times in canada but it seemed reasonable at the time (through amazon)

So as a Canadian follower of an American team, how do I watch games this season? Do I just need to subscribe to the Sportsnet app?

If watching cable, I would use Bell fibe centre ice (CI).
If streaming , then Sportsnet Now Premium.

If open to either, then I would choose CI.

If someone has Sportsnet through cable and gets SN Now for free, can they just pay the difference for premium ($100)?

Received the email with the promo code, cost will be $179 for the season which is $70 off the regular price.

Can anyone confirm if this can be used by multiple users at the same time? I had no issues sharing this with others last year though NHL Live but if this is no longer the case I may skip this year and look for another option.
That's still ridiculous... when you consider that ESPN+ in the states is $9,99 per month.

I can easily afford either but I'm SO pissed off at the gouging here in Canada that I'll be looking at other options. It's not even about money... they had a great app in NHL Live and now apparently it's only available in countries where hockey is unpopular??

I have never liked sportsnet so they can go f*** themselves... it's not Canadian consumers' fault you wanted to get the NHL so badly that you made a terrible deal...

[Also - there's actually a place called South Sandwich Islands? That sounds crazy... and delicious!]

I'm trying to tip toe around this - because I fully understand the warnings and respect em.
But this is wild... I really want, what I want! and without having to jump through hoops, pay a dumb amount, bundle a bunch of things together within a TV package and/or deal with delays/buffers/ads/etc etc.

TAKE MY MONEY! but make me happy!

I'm sure i could find all this online, but I've looked and it's kinda vague.

So regardless of where I live - is this the option for watching all of my team (Leafs - assuming can work for other teams aswell)?

1. ESPN+ (But need regular ESPN for the national games?)
2. NHLtv (Heard it's pricey? and not all that great?)
3. Local (Pay for a regional package with the big bad guys)
4. SNnow (but need TSN or other for non-SN games)
5. y'arhh (Lag/adds/quality concerns)

Well where you live determines which package you need.
If you’re in Leafs regional zone or not , determines which package would be best.
ESPN+ is not available in Ontario.

Though you are right, in principle...without breaching the terms on page 1. I won't go further.

But let's say I'm moving anywhere in the world. Which is the best, easiest legal option that isn't tied to a TV package?

I’ve been using Sportsnet now all summer with a Google Chromecast with tv . There is an option to hide scores and the DVR function works very well . I don’t watch too many games live , I’m either behind the play or watch the game when it is archived. The DVR aspect of Sportsnet now is actually better than NHL live in my opinion.

Isn’t the score part annoying though.?

Good to know, thanks. So where can you find an archived game and is it only archived for a certain amount of time? Can I watch a hockey game from April today? I'd be watching on GTV or AndroidTV as well.

Do you happen to know the answer to this:

Wondering about ESPN+
Depending where I live, let's say Arizona. Will I get all Maple Leaf games... I'm still skeptical that there will be national blackouts. (I understand the local one, if Toronto is in town to play Yotes)

Ive been watching baseball so don’t really know but if you go to the home page the recent games are there . I really don’t know what kind of layout they will have for hockey so don’t know the answer to your question.

Gave it a try on my GTV. In the tabs at the top, I went under league and from there NHL and picked my team (Oilers - only Canadian teams available). At that point, scroll down to On demand and the games are there in reverse chronological order. A calendar would be better, but I'm usually watching the last game played (unless I'm on vacation) so this can work too. I went back to March and was able to go through some games.

The only setting I didn't find was where to hide scores. Can you tell me where that is?

Depending on price, I may still get NHL.tv when i'm in europe in the next while since it'll still be cheaper than the premium SN now. And then I can test drive SN now standard for free for next season.

On my homepage on my Sportsnet app for my IPad you can customize the scoreboard so you can delete NHL , MLB etc .
