I wouldn’t recommend using the Roku mirror feature. It worked well initially but if you join a game in progress it won’t let you re - start the game , it always went straight to the live action.
trust me , I'm not thrilled with the idea either .

I have available hdmi slots so buying 1 amazon firestick on the dedicated t.v that I watch sports on is likely where I'm headed . I think they are around 40-50 bucks so its not like I'm buying a sattellite receiver

nhltv is the worst service i've ever seen in my life.

i wanted to watch game 2 but there is no game scheduled for that day. and it isn't first time it happened. occasionally, some or all games are missing from the schedule. then i have to go to nhl.com to connect and then i see the final result. not to mention that the mobile app is completely broken and unusable. incredibly, incredibly bad product. i've been subscriber for the better part of last decade, but i won't pay for that garbage anymore.

its not available in canada next year .

this was my first year streaming after many years with center ice through satt t.v and I found the nhltv app through roku was flawless when it came to all the islander games

NHLTV Hasn’t even worked for me past 3 SCF final games just getting “unable to connect”. Constantly drop connection all year at commercial breaks. Garbage

on the device page I noticed samsung smart tv's are listed as a device that can carry the SN NOW premium app with 1080p resolution) . I downloaded the app and watched bits and pieces of some islander games from this past season and part of the jays-chisox game last night without any issues .

we use roku instead of what the smart tv offers (and still will because the interface is easy to navigate) but at least I'll have the option switch to smart tv mode and use the SN app

I like TNT's coverage the best- but ESPN+ and ESPNs coverage has worked well for me personally so far.

A breath of fresh air for me.

Has SN announced anything on how SN Now will deal with regional NHL games where Rogers doesn't own the regional rights (i.e., Jets, Sens, Habs)? Currently their webpage says they don't show these games, but its dated from September 2021 and before the complete shift of NHLTV to SN Now. If I can't watch all the games because they're too bitter to broadcast a TSN feed on their own streaming service they won't be getting a dime from me for any of their services. This also seems like it will cost me more... NHL TV was around $180 for the season, and now I'll have to pay $250 for the full SN Now package??

Yeah , it’s ridiculous. If it wasn’t for the fact I work shift work and need to be able to re - start games and have them archived I wouldn’t bother paying $ 250 but ultimately I probably will be .

what would be the point of buying the pkg if your a Habs , Jets , Sens fan living out of market and SN NOW-premium didnt pick up those TSN regional games .

Exactly. If I'm an out of market fan I should be able to by a single premium package to be able to watch ALL out of market games and not have to deal with buying separate streaming packages. If the NHL and providers are going to whine and complain about illegal streams maybe they need to look at their own inferior product and provide reliable, high quality products and we'll buy them.

I have my doubts that it works this way . I'd imagine sn now premium carrys those jets, habs, sens, leaf games that are regionally broadcast by tsn and if your outside those markets you would get them .

i.e - if your in vancouver you would get the tsn feed of those 4 teams via the sn now premium pkg .

The only way you would need the TSN app is to see the TSN regional game in your own region

i.e - if you live in winnipeg you'd need the TSN app to see the Jets TSN regional coverage

*I had nhllive last season so I could be totally wrong but I have a hunch I'm right

Yea, I've had NHL Live the past few seasons and that's how it worked and I've largely been happy with it. SN/Rogers hasn't released any information on what will happen with those TSN feeds now that NHL Live is moving completely to SN Now Premium. Their website currently says those feeds will not be available (dated from last year though). Regardless, the price is going up significantly and its BS. They'll say, well you get these other premium services with SN Now. But I don't give a shit about wrestling or those other leagues. I just want to watch NHL and be able to see my favourite teams regional/out-of-market games (much preferably with their regional team broadcast).

Certainly someone that used sn now - premium for 21-22 can let us know the answer to this .

in the U.S , you didnt see Ballys , MSG etc..... prevent ESPN from using their feeds with their pkg .

I went into the winnipeg jets page at sn now premium and clicked on their last game of the year verses seattle .

sn now premium used the TSN feed for this game so this tells me that those tsn regional feeds are freely utilized by the pkg .

Anybody else get charged this week for NHL.TV? I just got charged...there's no hockey, lol...wth?

Edit: Eh, went back and looked at history and the first charge was November, so I guess it works out to the nine payments.

Just got an email stating ESPN+ price will be raised to $9.99. Still a great deal for the hockey games alone but I really hope they make some changes on the streaming end. I want to be able to start a game from the beginning for instance.

FWIW - on the ESPN+ site, it now says:
"...Annual subscriptions to ESPN+ can currently be purchased for $69.99/year*.
**Effective Aug. 23, 2022, annual subscriptions to ESPN+ will increase to $99.99/year. Prices for existing subscribers will increase on their first bill on or after August 23rd."

why does espn+ only have a few classic hockey games? I had center ice like 8 years ago and they had hundreds of games from what I remember. It’s really disappointing.

Sooner or later the NHL is just going to realize the fans are not going to get roped into ESPN+ or HULU. I personally find it exciting getting dressed like a pirate here and there! You should try it some time arrgghh!

Can't seem to manage my ESPN+ sub using ESPN's website.. just loads to blank page. Tried a different browser, same issue.

Browsing reddit it looks like a lot of people have been having the same issue. Sent ESPN 'support' a lovely email asking them what is going on with their website.

Response from ESPN was "our website has crashed due to too many people trying to access it ... and we're trying to fix it"

As my avatar would suggest I live in WI...Really happy that Chicago is not on the 'blackout' list here.

So I'm hearing in Canada NHL live will be no more and it will be available on SN NOW. Ive never had NHL Live but already have SN NOW via my cable subscription of SN TV channels. Probably a silly question, but this change doesn't automatically mean I get NHL live full gauntlet of games right?

As it stands now , I only get the national games and some American vs American games on SN NOW using my cable login. I'm assuming there would be an extra subscription for the NHL live equivalent on SN NOW. Which is logical. My biggest worry is if starting next season , the only way to get the any U.S vs U.S games via streaming is to get the "full" package rather than just logging in with my cable subscription credentials.
