NHL.TV / Center Ice / ESPN+ Discussion - Part IV [See the warning in OP]

It seems to take 24-48 hours for the NHLN game to be made available for replay/on demand on ESPN+.
 
Sportsnet Now is complete garbage. ESPN+ can't be any worse. I have it on 2 firesticks, it's choppy as he'll and it's unwatchable. It took weeks to get any response from customer support. They refunded me 2 months and said at the time that a fix was coming in the next week. The guy said he had the same issues on his firestick. That was a few weeks ago. Still no fix, still trash, and still no timely response from customer service.

I also have an NHLTV subscription. I can watch some games on there, but some are blacked out and I can only watch those on Sportsnet. What a mess. I want to watch the games, I'm willing to pay for them, but the free streams are more reliable.

I can't even stream live games via their webpage without the feed buffering and crashing.

Completely unwatchable. What a joke from a company that has the broadcasting rights.

Back in March, the reporting on this subject said that NBC would broadcast the Stanley Cup Final in alternating years and half the playoff series each year. The inference in the report was that ESPN will carry the other half of the playoffs. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out when the playoffs begin.
 
Any international users having trouble with nhltv? It won't restore my purchase on mobile and on nvidia shield the Isles Preds is starting in the third period.

Unfortunately i have NOT been able to find any of the nhl network games in thr archive. Past years nhltv just blacked you out of these games where espn never even adds them to the library. I looked up i think every nhl network exclusive in November and could NOT find them.

If you are seeing them please let me know what device youre using and how you found them?

Well NBC subsequently lost all their rights, so they certainly won’t be broadcasting anything.

How it will work is ESPN and TNT will split the first two rounds. It will remain to be seen how (my guess it will be by day rather than by series given the shared NBA rights).

ESPN gets first choice of the conference Final every year. TNT gets second choice. They will alternate Stanley Cup Finals. ABC gets it this year (odds years), TNT airs it in even years.

Colorado vs Rangers from Wednesday (which is as an NHLN game) shows up for me when you go through the on-demand section.

Weird, i see that game on the on demand part. When i search espn+ catalog and search for what aired that day the rangers game isnt listed. I also dont see the ducks/capitals game which i see was an nhl network game but maybe its too old to stay in the on demand section

I really hate espn layout :facepalm:

In my I phone app, I went to the NHL section and then scrolled through the on demand portion. Didn’t go through any calendar.

Thanks i see a way to find games. Apparently the search works and pulls up games. I guess when i tried in the past it was too soon from when the game ended.

It appears for now it's just for Bally telecasts (and it's the same on Center Ice and ESPN+), and they've also added in After Hours on the HNIC broadcasts.

I'll cross my fingers and hope this is just the first step and that soon they'll have pre and postgame shows for other networks, specifically the NBC ones.

If it's exclusive to ESPN+, then it won't be on TV. Any out-of-market games that are not televised on either TNT or NHL Network can also be watched on ESPN+.
 
Is there a commercial that ESPN+ keeps playing over and over and over again you just can't take it anymore. I think it's localized because it's advertising the California Lottery, but I can't stand this ugly sweater commercial anymore. They play it so many times it's starting to drive me crazy.
 
Is anyone else annoyed by seeing the top saves/cellys thing 10 times a game? The is one of those crappy things that came over from MLB.tv when they took over the system, only it's 1000 worse because at least MLB.tv has dozens of clips they play on loop inbetween innings (which still gets old fast) while on NHL.tv it's literally the same two clips every f***ing commercial break

Anyway, maybe if it annoys a lot of people and we all send them an email bitching about it they'll do something about it? Unlikely but worth a try imo

Correct me if I'm wrong: ESPN+/Hulu neither broadcast in 5.1 audio so you cannot disable the commentary by muting the center channel, right?
 
Where do you look to see who is doing PBP in an ESPN+/Hulu exclusive game? I checked on the ESPN site, the Stars site, ESPN+ Twitter, and then some, not finding anything... If Leah Hextall is doing the Stars game tonight I'm gonna scream.


edit: Asked the Stars web guy, it's Buccigross.

It's unlikely they change, but yes, it's annoying as hell.
