People here are so funny. For the last month all I’ve seen (and said) is we need size and toughness. So we get some of that today for practically nothing and we’re upset. LOL
You got a guy coming back from a back injury that might not even be cleared to play, and a healthy scratch guy on a bad team with a cap hit of 2.7 while giving up a draft pick and player. I would call these risky pickups.

Plus they can’t be done as they are over the cap and I can’t see how they would be compliant without another move

Jackets are ready to throw a parade for John Davidson on their thread.
basically it was their "getting a 3rd for Forbort" moment.

I am mostly having fun with it, I like the players they got and they make defensemen way better than they normally are most times.

Peeke can PK and adds toughness to the defense. It lessens the minutes McAvoy and Carlo have to play short-handed. He used to play top 4 minutes in Columbus. He's had a down year, but let's see what he does in a better system.

I don't care if the 3rd is in three years, it's still a f***ing 3rd rounder.
How many times have the Bruins nailed 2nds and 3rds.... often.

Size yes. Where is the tough?
Maroon and Peeke would have been 2nd and 3rd on the team last year in hits. And I doubt Tkachuk gets away with much without taking a shot or two from either. Drop off for both this year, but that’s why they cost very little.

Peeke’s drop off confuses me though, feels like lingering injuries or problems with the staff. I guess we’ll see.

Maroon is essentially a staged fighting goon (not a good one) and Peeke hardly has any PIMs to speak of.

I love how fans on HFBoard were all salivating over 1st round picks for their players and getting other teams top prospects.

Reality sets in HARD with players going for 3rd, 5th, and 7th rounders

ROFL
