Definitely, although I do wonder about him a bit as he ages. He is 30. Not over the hill by any means but I wouldn't be surprised if his best hockey is behind him. Still, an extremely tolerable price and exactly what they needed post-Niskanen. Very likely takes them out of the running the Jones, although with Myers gone I guess never say never.

Good piece of business by Poile flipping Patrick for Glass. There's the Brandon connection for VGK but that's a fairly risky move and one that doesn't come close to solving their center issue.

The Adin Hill trade raises the odds of Vanecek being picked somewhat. Still not sure it will happen given the Holtby rumors and that only leaves 1 other slot for an NHL goalie.

I imagine Vegas is going to be active elsewhere addressing their center needs. Perhaps even taking a look at Kuznetsov, who could work well with puck-hounds like Mark Stone and Max Pacioretty.

I don't like this trade at all for Nashville. Losing Ellis for that little is obviously no good, but even the Patrick->Glass flip isn't very good IMO. While Patrick has been disappointing in Philadelphia he's at least impacting the play defensively at 5v5 while not being a huge drag on offense like Glass has been. I could see Patrick evolving into being a good third line forward at some point if his health improves (big if) while Glass hasn't even shown he's going to be in the league in a few years. He's been hugely disappointing in Vegas.

Also Philadelphia likely not spending assets on a mediocre player like Seth Jones is another win for them. They got a lot better with this trade, and it's not good for Washington seeing as they are one team the Capitals probably need to finish ahead of to be in the playoffs next year.

Philadelphia was a rumored destination for Dougie Hamilton so I wonder if this trade puts those rumors to bed, or if they still have space and are active in trying to acquire him. Hopefully the former, if you're a Capitals fan. That would be a scary leap in talent for the Flyers.

Going to see a lot of big tickets unprotected I reckon.

I don't get this unless there is already a trade in the queue that has not been announced. Or if Tarasenko's shoulder is completely shot and no one will trade for him.

Nashville is losing their identity this summer, Arvidsson, Ellis and Rinne all gone.

Lou's clearing some cap with Leddy and Ladd. Trotz knows Suter, wouldn't be surprised that they go for both Parise and Suter.

Kotkaniemi is the one I’d target in a Kuznetsov trade. I think he’s about to put it all together and when he does I think he’s bound to hit Barkov territory.

Heck why not make it Kotkaniemi + Weber for Kuznetsov + Schultz. And then go hard after Suter to pair them back together. Or Suter - Carlson, Orlov - Weber.

Good value. I’d do it as Caps fan

The value is tempting, very tempting. But it would take a lot of moving pieces for that to work out for Washington. Caps have plenty of wingers, and removing Kuzy would leave them short on centers.

Was tweaking on Cap friendly. If Schultz is taken by seattle they offload hagelin, ovi signs for 9.5-10. It would all fit under cap. McM would have to handle some minutes tho which he may or may not be able to handle. And the D would be suspect

But in the end its all for fun anyways
