This Matt Rempe kid isn't going to be playing for long if he keeps asking for fights and then gets his ass handed to him. Olivier from Buffalo cleaned his clock.

Rempe is an idiot, going around gooning it up against veterans half a foot shorter than him, thinking nobody can hit him at 6'8. What's going to happen when he fights an actual tough guy like Mantha? Don't they teach about CTE anymore?

All jokes aside - this kid is actually very likely to end up with concussions / brain damage / CTE if this continues. I dunno, might be getting old. I have a 17 year old son who has been boxing for a couple of years now and what he does, with gloves etc, compared to this....this is just brutal shit and dangerous.

I know a lot of people here love the fighting etc - each to their own, I respect that.

I'm sure he knows the risks and is willing, but if he doesn't learn to protect himself better he will have a very short career. He's actually a decent skater from what I've seen, so maybe there is more to his game than fighting.

Thats the year they turned it around.

One season. I wasn't talking about points or playoffs I was talking "big deal" wrt gooning it up.

Look who you're talking to.

I'm still confused.

We never did get those Reaves vs. Wilson battles with the Rangers. The most we ever saw of Reaves was in St. Louis.

Go back a few more posts. The original question was when was the last time the NYR gooned it up properly. Reaves was just kind of stuck in there because of Wilson. He had 3 fights in 69 games that first year in NY.

He's more of a mouthpiece than a tough guy these days.

Can't blame him, he's old and taking punches isn't fun.

Wilson was in their head. That was so beautiful. But nothing came from the signing and Reeves left. I laugh at them. Sadly, Rangers look good.

Unfortunately for us, TW is following the old saying "try to turn a crusher into a rusher and you get an usher".

He was MUCH more effective as a player when he wasn't just racking up "technically a hit" stats and was intimidating the shit out of everyone on the ice.

Funny how the league nixed future considerations deals so now you get rando reserve list dudes included in retention deals.

Pretty hilarious that it's Phillip Grubauer who is one of the worst goalies around this season that shuts out Penguins and basically destroys whatever was left of their Playoff chances.

Now i just need them to fall back to ~10th so that they don't have their 1st rounder in 2025.

Also hilarious that Pens reportedly want two 1st for injured, Crosby-dependent Guentzel
THE EXPECTATION AROUND the league is that both Guentzel and Smith will be on the move from Pittsburgh. Though Guentzel loves Pittsburgh and has the utmost respect for Sidney Crosby, it's probably time -- especially considering the road ahead for the Penguins to be top contenders again. Guentzel is already skating and it sounds like he'll be good to go on March 10 when he's eligible to come off LTIR. I don't think anyone has matched the Penguins high asking price for Guentzel (two first-round picks, or the equivalent) but it sounds like several teams are circling, including Edmonton, Colorado, Detroit, Carolina, Vegas and Florida.
