Well now they are committed to him for at least the next -3 years before they really consider any move…(if it were needed).I’m surprised they gave him that much term, especially with his current contract running until the 23-24 season. Coaches don’t have a ton of shelf life anymore
I think we’ll do the same with Lavi through Ovi era. I don’t hate that. Assuming OV is on board.Well now they are committed to him for at least the next -3 years before they really consider any move…(if it were needed).
Might coincide with 87 riding off into the sunset…
Happy trails to the little bugger.
The latest NHL tact……pray you can lock them down and they break out after…..Still seems a bit weird to me so many teams are signing young players to 8 year term without much production
Some of the best made gifs ever!He provided some great gifs during shootouts, some of which I saved on my old computer which sadly is no longer accessible.
I would suspect Compher. Newhook is only 21. Rodriques at 2C would be like having Eller at 2C.Who is Colorado’s second line center? Compher? Newhook? Can’t be Rodrigues, right?

Maybe their other skaters are so good that it won’t matter but that’s a pretty big leap of faith for them at 2C.From an Athletic article:
In Colorado’s lineup, Rodrigues will almost certainly play a middle-six role and could contend for the second-line center position. He had more points than Alex Newhook (33) and J.T. Compher (33) this past season.
Mix of those guys but in the end it'll be whoever they acquire at the TDL. There are bunch of good soon-to-be UFA's out there, including Larkin, ROR and Horvat.Who is Colorado’s second line center? Compher? Newhook? Can’t be Rodrigues, right?
If he has a good year, then now. He’ll be a RFA at seasons end So timing is right. When do we extend Fever 8 years lol?
If he starts strong they should push it earlier IMO. If they wait until summer and he improves noticeably, we lose out on cost savings….If he has a good year, then now. He’ll be a RFA at seasons end So timing is right.
They could also sign him to a 2 year bridge and he’ll still be an RFA. Then do the 8 years. That will keep cost down the next two years (maybe 2.5M to 3.5M). And then an 8 year will need to probably be much higher. I’m not ready to pay him ”much higher” in the next two Cap tight years. If he starts strong they should push it earlier IMO. Both Landeskog and Rantanen have played some center for Colorado. I suspect we'll see more of that this season, and then they'll address 2C at the trade deadline.Who is Colorado’s second line center? Compher? Newhook? Can’t be Rodrigues, right?
Another early (age 24) 8 year extension for 65M.
