Don Koharski is a babbling buffoon who says noting important.

Carolina got totally jobbed on the goalie interference call. Debrusk pushed the goalies leg out from under him, directly caused the goal.

GI is joke these days. They never get the reviews right.
I didn’t see it that way at all.

I thought maybe Pesce accidentally pushed Rannta’s pad, which caused him to lose balance and lift his leg slightly - and then DeBrusk was able to squirt it through.

Either way, the Bs are gonna be on the fortunate side of those calls 9/10 times.

Maybe Rob B shouldn’t coach his guys to commit so many penalties, assuming they’ll just kill them - eventually that’s gonna bite you.

Rod’s pressers are so annoying, he’s always preening and acting tough and seemingly making it all about him.

Everything about their franchise is unlikeable. The coach, their social media team, their beat writer for The Athletic, the Bunch of Jerks thing, their storm surges after games, etc. And they employ possibly the least likable player in the league in Tony DeAngelo.

But to your point, Rod is such a whiner. Don’t recall him being that way as a player but can’t stand listening to him talk as a coach.

they did that thing where a group adopts something ironically and then a second louder group sweeps in like "oh we get to be shitheads now?" and pushes the envelope until they lose the thing that made it tongue in cheek to begin with. now instead of wearing their moniker ironically to highlight harmless fun there's a separate part of the fanbase that seems to delight in being brash and difficult to like.

I will probably regret saying this but... I kind of like the Canes. Just like the way they play the game and it seems to be a really tight knit group. Aho is awesome, Svechnikov is a treat to watch. I've always liked Staal.

Does this make me a pervert? Yes, yes it does.

Very interesting to see what happens to Avs if they don't win the Cup. They will have their stars still on the books but their forward core is going to be decimated around them.

Kadri, Burakovsky, Nichuskin all UFA's. Lehkonen is RFA. They need to figure out their goaltending situation too as Kuemper is UFA and needs a new contract. Manson and Murray are UFA's on D.

They will still ice a ridiculous team for next season. Contract year for MacKinnon and last ELC seasons left for Newhook and Byram. Other good contracts such as Makar @ 9.0 and Toews @ 4.1 (well done Lou trading him for 2 2nds for cap reasons and to keep Leddy).

Really happy for Burt. He's going to get paid as an 27-year old UFA and with 61-point season under him.

They will get weakened at the start of the season and probably add some players like they did with Lehkonen at the TDL. Nichuskin had an even better season than Burakovsky in PPG and its hard to rate how good theyre seasons are as playing on Colorado increases PPG by a lot for those wingers. Might be they are closer to 0,6 PPG instead of 0,8 PPG on a regular team. I wouldnt give Bura a big increase from the 4.9 he has today I think Colorado can find a cheaper option that can produce similarly. They can probably only lock up one of those at least if they sign Kadri and both will probably want some years on their contract after the seasons they have had.

They already have 6 defencemen signed in Makar, Byram, Johnson, Toews, Girard and MacDermid. Murray will be let go and isnt really needed. If they want to keep Manson they probably have to move Johnson something they might consider anyway as they might need that cap on forwards instead.

A lot depends on if Kadri takes a discount or not. They have 6 forwards and 6 defencemen and 1 goalie locked up (Who played a decent amount of games this year) with 24,6 million in capspace according to capfriendly. Unless they trade away Johnson they have to at least let 1 of Kadri, Bura, Nich and Lehkonen walk. Then they will probably sign a few of their 3rd-4th liners Cogliano, Sturm, Helm and Aube-Kubel.

Pretty amazing that all 4 series that have played 4 gms are all tied at 2-2

Kings came out strong and completely dominated 1st pd last night jumping out to 2-0 lead then doing well to shut down EDM's big guns and play strong D, super chippy game too

Carolina gave away PP's like Halloween candy to BOS, that Trocheck DOG puck over glass was one of the worst ones I've ever seen;
2 5-on-3's and a Dbl minor are a good Rx for a loss

TB didn't give TOR a sniff, gm over by 10:00 of 1st; maybe time for doubt to creep in (again) for Leafs

Tonight the 3 underdogs (Caps/DAL/PIT) can all take gm 4 to go up 3-1, or we can have up to 7 of 8 series all at 2-2, which don't remember ever happening

Go Hockey!

Ha what's wrong with Sara Civ? She's pretty funny, obviously comes off as kind of a "fan" but i don't really mind when writers play towards the fanbase. Not like some old media men in Canada who have regular meltdowns like Simmons in Toronto or Matheson in Edmonton or Rossi in Pittsburgh. And of course can't forget Mr. Larry Brooks. They're all so whiny

The canes do annoy me, mostly because of their annoying twitter account. That turned me against VGK as well. I hate brands doing those bits

I think it’s one of those things where if you like all of the Canes’ antics then you’ll like her and if not you think she sounds like an internet troll, which is the sense I get.

And yeah, the list you gave are all insufferable. Way too many old dudes thinking they have a monopoly on the game. Don’t forget Adrian Dater on that list.

All these tied series just show how reactionary every single fanbase is. We are not alone in that.

Saw so many comments calling every series over. I think only Col/Nas is truly over.

I was fine with Trotz leaving over pay (allegedly) but what hurt this organization after that was taking all the coaches with him (save for Forsythe). Lambert, Korn, countless other staffers followed Trotz to NYI.

IMO losing Korn was huge. I hope Saturday's performance is more consistent...

Where to next Barry? That doesn;t seem like a good decision from the Isles. They had a tough start with the away games and got screwed by COVID. They looked excellent against us to close out the year, they were playing Trotz hockey!

Philly? Chicago? Winnipeg? Detroit??

I don't want to see him in the Metro again, 4 years of that was pretty rough

Maybe Detroit or Chicago

Florida (if Brunette doesn’t get the permanent gig), Detroit, or Vancouver(if Bruce leaves over a contract disagreement) make the most sense to me. Philly, Chicago, and Winnipeg are likely to suck for years. Those other teams are either built to win or built to take the next step now.

Sucks for Barry. I wonder if he and Lou had a disagreement about the way forward because the Isles have greatly overachieved relative to talent level since he’s been their coach.
