Gotta beat the best to be the best. Don't care about PIT, FLA, or whoever.

Stars shouldn’t fight….it’s that simple. If you find yourself forced…..tie the guy up and tumble both to the ice to end it.

Pens look like a mess tonight.

The Rangers also made some pretty good deadline additions. They were the opposite of Washington: NYR was carried by their top end talent with very poor depth players. They took big strides improving their depth with the additions of Vatrano, Copp, Braun, and Motte.

God the Panthers are good, I’m going to try my hardest to get excited and pumped about that series. But goddamnit lol

I don't trust Bobrovsky. Their D also seems sketchy.

And just like that Habs are back in it.

Edit: Tied now. Gudas is still awful.

Daniel Sprong...hero to the "what about me" crew....
It's the "around the league" thread so, you know, it's ok for people to talk about him here.

Just because you seem to have this attitude that once a player is traded away they are "dead to this board" doesn't mean we can't speak of them. It's okay to be happy for players when they go to other teams.

And on that note: Vrana doing well in Detroit! 19 points in 21 games. Good for him!

it’s like some of you are obsessed with those who are gone…like you’re constantly trying to validate your dislike of whatever trade happened.

Here's a shocking thought: what if teams looking for X type of player have a need for X type of player and can provide an environment that helps them produce?

What does this comment even mean?

Are you implying people who think Sprong is a good hockey player are also selfish and entitled?
I'm not implying anything of the sort. Seems like some are obsessed with trying to prove GMBM wrong and love to keep coming here and trying to throw it in people's faces....

Nope....nobody wants to hear that a trade can work out for any other team.....otherwise GMBM blew it.

I don't think Sprong had any sort of future in DC, but it is frustrating that the big deadline acquisition for Washington probably doesn't even deserve a spot in the lineup with his level of play. Even given the current injuries on the team.

I honestly wish them well. I'll never regret the Vrana move. He was a shithead here for whatever reason. I hope he grows out of that, learns more of a team game, and fulfills his potential. Mantha feels like a good fit for us, so the trade worked out for everyone involved. Isn't that what's supposed to happen?

Sprong just didn't fit here. He clearly wasn't changing his game enough for the coaching staff. And it's a shame because this team could use his speed and finish. We can quibble over who's at fault there, and I do believe both sides could have made more of an effort, but ultimately it's on him to adapt. He's a good individual performer in one phase of the game. This team prefers versatility and responsible play. Not a good fit.

If MoJo gets outplayed and ends up a scratch, yeah, I think it could have been a little better to have a specialist subbing in with some standalone offensive punch. But either way I want a guy that's actually vying for a full-time spot, and that wasn't happening here for Sprong.
