Going to take the opportunity to pick up one of my all-time favorites, former Flyer, Hurricane, and Hartford Whaler: RW Sami Kapanen

It’s getting a bit rough out there on the blueline, but the NJFZ are pleasantly surprised to select HOF LD, the Great Bill Gadsby.

He finished in the top 5 in Norris voting 6 times during his career, including finishing second behind Doug Harvey twice, and was a 7 time 1st or 2nd team All Star. He set a record for most assists by a defenseman in a season in 58-59 with 46, and was the highest scoring defenseman with 568 career points when he retired. His ability to survive disasters is what really got our attention though; he survived both polio in the middle of his career and the sinking of the passenger liner Athenia by a German U-Boat torpedo attack in 1939.

The 90s and 00s are woefully underrepresented in my all time forward lineup so far, so I will take LW Patrik Elias.

@GKJ

I got sniped so hard here. :laugh:

I know he was a Devil, but there's no better case of HOF voters not understanding two-way play and the effect of systems on stats than Elias. He should be in and it shouldn't be close.
