For the Methgators next film character, we decided to go with someone who cares about things about as much as I care about the Flyers. So, with that in mind, please welcome to Jacksonville the well known nihilist and porn star, KARL HUNGUS!!

Time for you to choose @Striiker , and feel free to care about nothing.

"Richard was a sharpshooter in the US Army during World War I. He was badly disfigured during the war, losing his eye, upper jaw and most of the cheekbone on the left side of his face. He has also suffered some throat damage which causes him to speak in a low, muffled voice. Because of his appearance, Harrow wears a tin mask in public that is molded to mirror the intact right side of his face.

"After the war he returned to Plover, Wisconsin, where his twin sister, Emma, cared for him while his wounds healed. Once he was able to care for himself he left to live in Chicago.

"Richard meets fellow veteran Jimmy Darmody in an army hospital in Chicago, and they become fast friends. To prove his loyalty, Richard kills a local gangster who had disfigured a young prostitute with whom Jimmy was close. Jimmy invites Richard to stay with him and his family, and brings him on as muscle in his bootlegging outfit."

Team TV/Movie Character II - Richard Harrow

@BigToe
f***. f*** f*** f***. I had him as our team sidekick but passed for Vining. I was hoping to steal him for something else down the line.
He’s one of the GOATs.

Allow me to un-baffle you.

The director of Apocalypse Now is Francis Ford Coppola.
Francis Ford Coppola is your Team Director.
Therefore, no one other than you could have picked Apocalypse Now.

Got a Hyundai Santa Fe XRT. I was bringing my car in for service and saw this on sale in the showroom. For less than the national average sale price. Buying a car wasn't on our radar today, but we fast tracked it before someone else could snag it. It's for my wife since we are reproducing one more time.

Let me do some mild gambling and I'll pick
Congratulations on either the new baby on the way, or the sex going for a baby on the way!

Has betaboi Chuck sucked the will to live out of anyone else yet, or is it just me? What a piece of shit. It feels like a bad dream.

We're going to pick a movie. It's an underrated cult comedy that must find its way to the Quackverse. Ergo:

Grave of the Fireflies is a tough (re)watch, to reiterate my write-up this phase, just because it's so crushing. Princess Mononoke is one of my favorites; it's definitely his most epic film. It's a masterpiece, but it's not a huggable one, if that makes sense, speaking to your post. Spirited Away is my favorite that balances everything. Kiki is up there too -- definitely one of his warmest ones -- but I believe you watched that somewhat recently? That one simply must be up your alley. It's impossible to have that one at arm's length. Really the only ones I'd describe like that are The Wind Rises and Princess Kaguya.

I think you would quite like Only Yesterday, which is a Ghibli movie by co-founder Takahata (also did Grave of the Fireflies). It's one of their most low-key character studies about a 20-something woman reflecting on her childhood in 1960s Tokyo. No fantasy elements. It's a good lesser known one; a little more mature in pace/tone while hitting all those nostalgic bright notes.

Ditto for Whisper of the Heart. It was the only film directed by Yoshifumi Kondō before he died young -- he was actually their successor in training. I only saw it a year ago, and I think it's up there with their masterpieces (couldn't believe I never saw it), while also being among their more intimate movies. It's a coming of age story about a teenager in Tokyo who wants to become a writer; no fantasy besides a dream sequence. It's such a delicate cozy one that really breathes. Fair warning: they briefly sing Take Me Home, Country Roads but substitute the lyrics for stuff like "concrete roads."
Think I'm going to take my niece to see Kiki in the theater in June.

Team Album II:

I have danced around this band for a while, choosing Martina Topley-Bird, who has collaborated with the band and independently with band member, Tricky. I also picked the House theme song specifically to add Teardrop (not from this album) to our franchise.

Their debut is regarded by many as the first trip-hop album and it's a banger. Probably not as famous as their follow up, but the Seattle Sockeyes are thrilled to select Blue Lines by Massive Attack.

The dunce @Lord Defect still has to pick his book, so he is on the clock, @CanadianFlyer88 is on deck, MacGruber is on the lido deck with two, and pit is on the lido pit deck HOPING HE DOESN'T FALL IN. @ajgoal also has to make up his pick.

I would like to tell you about "SO in Love," which was ultimately just terrible because they cast people who were too young and too unenthusiastic to be on the show, unlike the similar "Twinkle Love," which has had two great seasons because the cast actually went for it. I would like to tell you about that, but I can't see a f***ing thing, seriously. Here is a song that you don't need your eyes to enjoy, so gather all your blind friends together and bop your heads. Carefully.

God damnit. @Chuck Downie picked Fat Mike as his team fan of all things??? FFS. Back to the drawing board. I don't know albums.

The start of two excellent series (9 books and the tv adaptation), this is an excellent blend of believable sci fi and the fantastic. The only failing is it kills off the wrong main character.
