Ok, I owe a pick here, finally ready to make a move on a sorcerer, per se, after deliberations I’ve decided this is my opportunity to pick up Bowser. An accomplished, iconic figure of black magic, controlling fire, and other absurd things that has made him *the* preeminent villain in video game history.

Our ancient civilization is going to be the Venetians. Why? Because they traded. For everything. They were the masters of it. Their trading got so good that they eventually became a superpower- this tiny city built on (in?) the water. So many places wanted to trade with them that they ended up morphing Byzantine, Roman, Florentinian, Etruscan, Greek, Asian, and European cultures into this tiny little place.

The Venetians were shrewd enough to get along with everyone so well that they took their money and culture. Let's bring that negotiation style to the table. Imagine how badly the Venetians would fleece Chuck

@Rebels57
.
This is a great f***ing pick. I'm so happy someone took them.

Goosebumps - Welcome to Dead House

As a child, I was a massive Goosebumps fans. Reading these on my own before going to bed at 7, 8, 9 years old in the early 90's are some great memories. My grandmom (RIP) would buy me each new one when it came out and at one point, I had all 52 of the original run, but they were passed on to my niece and then donated at some point.

I'm assuming I can't take the entire series due to the strict rules that govern the Quackverse, so we'll go with Welcome to Dead House. It is both one of the better stories, and the first one. My goal now is recollect all 52 of the original books, to read with my daughter, by finding them around at thrift stores, yard sales, etc. So far i've found 1 lol.

I remember hitting the library in elementary school and having a no holds barred race to the Goosebumps section to get a hold of the newest release first. Legendary books back in the day.

While I think this is a great category for most of us, it's not one of the more important ones for me personally. I loved playing arcade games as much as anyone - they were mind-blowing in my distant youth, the first of their kind. I even remember when Pong came out, or at least when my uncle first bought it early on, and to watch these f***ing things develop from that into what they became was pretty exciting.

The thing is, these bastards cost quarters, and I had a lot of pull on my very, very limited funds. There were always books that I was desperate to buy. I needed to buy the newspaper (we didn't get one delivered once the St. Louis Globe Democrat went out of business) so I could read the sports section and the comics. Plus there were snacks to buy, and I was always starving after school. Arcade games took a back seat to all of that stuff most of the time.

Plus, I was shit at them. I was much better (but still mostly shit) at my Intellivision games I had at home. There was one arcade game I enjoyed more than any other, though.

True story - I recently found an old 80's trucker hat from a Video Game Challenge that must have taken place around the same time. Underneath the brim someone wrote in Sharpie "Kurt - Centipede" followed by their high score, which was around 169,000. I'll post pictures later. Is your name Kurt by any chance? I can see that being your name considering you're a Vonnegut fan lol. Is this your hat?!

The Las Vegas Desert Ducks would like to thank our brother for yielding the floor to us.

We are going to select first someone in the Team Sorcerer category. We thought about just selecting one of the iterations of this character because it's always such a fierce and comedic conversation that I like to have with my one friend (as I have mentioned on here before) but decided the easier and more consuming path is selecting the person himself. We are speaking, of course, about Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.

I know that my brother has a very strong opinion on this matter but how about the rest of you... which Dumbledore is the best?

I do like the name Kurt, because of both Vonnegut and Nightcrawler, but that is not me. Also, I didn't usually write on my hats. Also, I probably never got within 160,000 of that f***ing score lol.

Michale Gambon is BY FAR the worst, and there is no argument - not only is he the worst of those, he is the worst possible person to inhabit that character. What is the one thing above all else that Dumbledore had? That "twinkle in his eyes." Michael Gambon is very good in a certain kind of role, but he has never had a twinkle in his eyes in his whole f***ing life. Totally absurd casting. Richard Harris, on the other hand, was absolutely perfect.

With our next selection we're going to turn our attention to the Team Talk Show Host category. This selection is fully based on #Lore and what the town of Las Vegas is all about. We are going to select Frank Rosenthal. Now some of you are probably wondering who he is? Well he's who Sam "Ace" Rothstein was based off of in the movie Casino. I was going to select Sam himself but didn't feel like dealing with the headache of a certain poster when they notice that De Niro was selected.

Here is Frank interviewing the Team Criminal of @JojoTheWhale 's M.A.D. Cats.

@Chuck Downie you're up.

My Google drive just notified me of a one year ago today picture. It was my signature for DancingPanther in the original introductory post of the platypi. I think we can conclude that the quack first is a year old today
That’s it? Yet we’ve only gone this far in a year?

Spoiler! My daughter just read the first 25 pages of the first book.

Harris I believe was also an elite Abbe Faria

I still have like 4 R.L. Stine books in my collection. Only a couple Goosebumps though, and I know I read the majority. The covers are still amazing to look at.

I haven't watched/listened to this in years, but holy f*** this still slaps.

Just discovered this below. Apparently dedicated fans have turned some classic horror movies into Goosebumps covers. This one is for The Fog, fittingly.
