Kinda what I was thinking too. I hope he doesn't start tip-toeing around the ice now afraid he's going to get a bigger suspension next time.

The biggest bummer about this whole thing is that now he's no longer a first time offender and I doubt they'll go easy on him in the future.
 
I don't think it will effect Brown's play. I think he always knew he was on the radar because of his style. Yesterday somehow something went over his head and he sticked his elbow out, but it's nothing like Brown needs cheap shots to make his physical presence felt (not saying his elbow on Pominville was one).
 
Meh, it's bs. But, the whole league is a laughable when it comes to suspending players or not. I'm just really glad it had no playoff games involved or I would have been furious. He should be so lucky to get a rest. :)
 
Thats a load a crap, 'ville should have kept his ass up and not been so low. Hopefully this lights a fire under Brown's ass.
 
It's a legit suspension in my opinion. This board would meltdown if Richards took a hit like that from Clutterbuck.

Bracing or not, his elbow was out and he hit a guy flush in the face, knocking him out cold. Probably just a one game suspension if they would of hit him with a major and game misconduct but, since they did not, you get the two gamer.

Brown isn't going to change the way he plays. He'll just have an even longer suspension if he screws up again.

Hasn't seemed to change the way Doan plays.

Yep. In the grand scheme of things, I don't think it's that important either. He was bound to get suspended for one of these hits anyway. At least he's on notice not to do that **** in the playoffs and be more careful with how he uses his elbows. I don't think he will play any differently, but the elbowing stuff is probably not going to happen again. We don't need him getting away with this, and then doing the same thing in the playoffs and getting suspended for it.

Fine by me.

Sucks for the team, but the suspension is appropriate. If you were to believe most of the posters in the main board thread though, you'd be convinced brown murders and eats babies. Yeesh...

What I just think he needs to be better and score some goals/be dominant, like he was in the playoffs.

SC Champion last year. Want him to play like one again soon. I just think this suspension might help him play like one. Kopitar can rise to any challenge and this is a challenge so it'd be interesting to see what he does.
 
Yet another pile of road apples by NHL's maybe, sometimes, finger in the air safety department.

Edit: The video explanation...is a joke. This hit is similar but however Brown is in control..for the jkkkr fghh He does not even look at him and he doesn't expect a facebutt in his chest shoulder area.

I disagree with the 2 game suspension.He has no history and really if Pomminville is coming at Brown straight instead of leaning back as he reaches for the puck , it's contact to his chest.
 
This was total B.S. as it assumes intent. That said it is over and Brown got what he got. On to tonights game. TT will get his shot before the playoffs and that should be fun to watch. It would be a shame if we lost and in doing so caused the wild to miss out on their chance to make the playoffs after spending more money than god to make it happen.

Do we have any update on JP's injury? That guy is a solid player and I would hate to see him injured. He deserves his shot at the cup.
 
I imagine on the main board the posters are climbing over themselves to post "couldnt happen to a nice player" "shouldve been more" blah blah blah, rejoicing at the suspension.
 
I have no problem with the suspension. He's been treading on thin ice for a long time now and whether he intended to do this or not, he is responsible for his elbows, just like players are responsible for their sticks. We'd be screaming blue murder if this happened to Richards or Carter or Kopi.

Where I agree his must be responsible for his elbow. The other player should not put them in a position where an elbow that was slightly elevated hits themselves in the face. When both players are the same height. He raised it in a way that most would finish a check.

I think I've bothered to even check topics on the main board at this site about 3 or 4 times in the 3 years or so that I've been frequenting this site.
That's because each and every time I do so, it makes me feel like this:

I'd rather spend the time I devote to this site having fun with fellow fans, not bathed in a bottomless ocean of seething, incessantly frustrating stupidity.
