Another scenario. The Habs really want Kotkaniemi but trade down a few spots thinking they'll still get him later and someone trades up and takes him before the Habs can pick. If that ever happened Sportsnet better have a camera on MB's face.

How about we trade down to get Kotkaniemi:

NYR #9 and Chytil

And then we realize, "oops, we traded down to far and now we have to trade up"

To

MTL #9 (via NYR), #35 and Chytil

Then it wouldn't be a Montreal 2017-2018 season until Arizona picks up Kotkaniemi before us.

Page 17 and the draft is 3 and a half hours away. Can't blame us, I feel like a kid on Christmas right now.

Way more excited for the 2nd round picks than I am for our #3 overall. Hope we don't trade them away again this year.

I used to host draft parties in high school and almost every hockey fan in the school would come. Honestly some of the most fun I remember having in my life. Especially if I got guys who were fans of a bunch of different teams.
