Probably because he can’t even come over until after the 2020-21 season is over since he is under contract with SKA who has more money than God. They can sign him to a dump truck load of money at a young age to convince him to stay in comparison to a paltry ELC that an NHL team can offer.

Plus Byram DID score 26 goals this year, which is more than Dach and Krebs. This isn't to suggest that he's a better offensive weapon than those guys, but just pointing it out.
