I don’t think an offer for a first was coming. Buffalo got what will likely be a very late protected first next year for a better player with a better track record and way better reputation in Reinhart and they didn’t get a good prospect or depth nhl player along with it.

Not to mention the damage it’ll do in the locker room if he’s still there. It’ll be a circus with the media and cause a huge distraction. Not something you want your young developing players to be a part of. There’s a reason why this organization has been a joke for a decade and here’s yet another example of it.
