I would which is why when we resigned him I knew buchy was a goner. We need different types of players. No one replaces what kreider brings buchy will be replaced by our kids.
Yeah right. Somehow you also knew at that time the Rangers would hit the jackpot and be able to draft LaF. You also knew that Covid 19 would hit and create a flat cap. I don't think so! Fake News.

Well first I never said 90% of the things you’re alleging lol

But I don’t want to pull the plug on Drury but I’m less confident today than I was a week ago

Btw being tougher to play against and not getting bullied off the ice don’t have to be mutually exclusive
So why after the Othmann pick was 90% of the fanbase b******* about it? Mocking that he’s going out with every move concerned about Tom Wilson? The comments from the fanbase these last two days are disgraceful.

I didn’t think we had a shot at Laf but you can go back and read PLENTY of posts prob hundreds screaming for us to resign kreider. I’ve probably been saying we need to trade buchy since that time as well. Enjoy them

I was sure we would be without at least one of our defensive prospects at this point.

Expect the unexpected I suppose.

Based off what BBK said in the last thread, I can see something like this opening night..

Laf-Zbad-Kakko
Panarin-Danault-Goodrow
Kreider-Chytil-Kravtsov
Blais-Rooney/Barron-Reaves/Barron

Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Soucy-Lundkvist
MacDermid

Shesty
Halak

:dunno:

I trully believe that Panarin drives play. He does not need a set up center. Danault would be fine by me...but for the love of God, please stop sticking Goodrow on the 2nd line. The result would be worse than play Fast there. leave Goodrow on the bottom 6.

Jones is our one young Dman people are sleeping on.

It's either or I think.

Panarin-Strome-Goodrow could really click.

Panarin-Danault-Goodrow makes less sense. If they had Danault, they should go with Kravtsov on the right as the 'trigger man'

My friend from STL absolutely loves him. Says we're going to be pleasantly surprised. Take that for just a fan observation "shrugs".
I mean, Blais is definitely going to be a fan favorite. He does all of the things fans like to see. I’m happy we have him.

Can’t believe he cost Buch.

These two opinions can coexist.

Agree with this 100% also feel like if there is a draft tot stock up on gritty hard nose players this is the one. Save the talent picks for 22/23 drafts.

Yeah.

I mean for years now I watch the playoffs and maybe I'm seeing this wrong....but the difference makers in a lot of those knock down drag out games are the 3rd and 4th liners.

Now I get that you also need an abundance of goal scoring talent to take advantage of the breaks or opportunities that happen.

Our playoff teams from recent history were lacking there.

I think we've improved in that department with Zibby & Panarin, but we've also added excellent quality young scoring talent that only starts with Laf, Kakko, Kratsov and probably more.

Plus we have a backend literally choked with young talent.

People in this fan base hate this for reasons I can't fathom, but we lack toughness and grit.

That was clearly exposed as a fact this past season despite the willingness of many to either forget it or deny it.

The brutal, harsh reality of the NHL, especially in the playoffs, does not give a damn what you like.

I don't merely want a team that's flashy, fun and puts up good numbers during the season.

I want a better balanced team that can actually compete for and win a Stanley Cup.

You guys have a good summer.

Agreed! Kravtsov should get those minutes instead!

I liked Buch but I'm just not that upset. Good player who they never won anything with and everyone knew it was coming a season ago.

To me losing Cally in 2014 and Fast last year hurt more than Zuc or Buch.

Nice rant.

Agree 100 percent. Watching the conference final between tampa and the isles made me realize how far we still have to go.

Of course, you need guys to put the puck in the net, but you also need guys to go in for trench warfare.

I feel like the bottom lines of this team have a huge gap compared to ones we saw in the playoffs.

There is a reason why Goodrow has had a lot of ice time in back to back finals.

People think some fans are screaming for goons, but in reality some fans just want guys that can go out there be trusted, cycle, pin the oppossing team down without being a liability. Its all about balance

And not having a college coach that never coached at the professional level
