Kreider played on our 3rd line in the end, against worse opponents. Don't you remember LAF surpassing him?

How many games did Kreider play on that line before being shut down? 3?

I thought Kreider blew last year too, easily the biggest disappointment for me on the team last year but I’d prefer not to re-write history.

No one said Kreider sucks. But his contract will suck and he's the reason as to why we moved Buchnevich.

Who in here would choose Kreider over Buchnevich?

Kreider is older and is more likely to age worse.

Also RW are a lot of questionmarks while we already got Panarin and LAF on the LW.

I would which is why when we resigned him I knew buchy was a goner. We need different types of players. No one replaces what kreider brings buchy will be replaced by our kids.

I think everyone has to put these picks into some perspective. Every year throughout round 1 through 7 (except when they had the #1 and #2 picks), it always we have to draft this player! And then the Rangers don't. There were very few folks, if any on here that wanted Kravstov when he was picked. Or Chytil. Or Miller. Or Lundkvist. Or Schneider.

So far they've all turned out pretty damn good. Same with the later round picks. Everyone on her wants someone who is falling. He'll I remember when Shesh was drafted there was so many WTF reactions taking a goalie in the 3rd round. Same when Jones was picked.

I have to add that I had Kravy, Miller and Lundkvist all ranked +/- 1 spots in my Ola’s Top 31.

Agree with this 100% also feel like if there is a draft tot stock up on gritty hard nose players this is the one. Save the talent picks for 22/23 drafts.

Buchnevich did this most of his career. There's a ton of revisionist history on Buchnevich on here based on one (not full) season.



The point is, he's not gonna waive now when he's still good and still gonna earn ice time.

At *this* point, Buchnvich was easier to move and at best, Buchnevich is not that much better than Kreider that it would have been worth the hassle.

And besides we talk all the time about having a diverse lineup. Kreider is one of our few good forecheckers and our only decent net-front presence. We still need him right now.

Don't know the thinking there.

I suspect two things:

They wanted to free up room for Kakko and eventually Kravtsov, should he remain on the roster.

They think Blais has another level to hit and cold be a middle six tweener who can skate on the second line or the third line and net 15-20 goals and 35 points.

So in that sense, I think the probably value Blais more than the average fan.

My friend from STL absolutely loves him. Says we're going to be pleasantly surprised. Take that for just a fan observation "shrugs".
