Interesting. Especially given some of the recent scuttlebutt about the Habs being high on Reinbacher.

Both Hughes and Gorton were at the U18 in Switzerland.

It's weird, but there were more top players playing at the u18 tournament this year than last.

Smith, Leonard, Dvorsky, Wood, ASP, Barlow, Perreault, Moore, were all there including the big Swedes (minus Carlsson).

Slafkovsky, Nemec, Wright, & Jiricek didn't play u18s. Only the Americans were there (Cooley).

Yeah, they can zoom him. He's going to the draft and his agent said he'll arrive early enough so teams have a chance to personally interview him then.

No Russians were invited to combine. Same as last year.
With no opportunity for NHL medical folks to examine Michkov at the Combine this week, I wonder if his agent will allow him to be examined later in the month in Nashville before the draft. He did miss a couple of months at the beginning of the season with a knee injury after getting drilled by Emelin. I can't imagine a team relying on Russian medical reports for such a massive investment.

I'm not sure it matters all that much. He's not coming over for 3 years. At most maybe you want a baseline, but that can be done post-draft too.

Sounds like tests start timorrow.

Testing isn't til later in the week. Players are still arriving. Fantilli & Bedard are in Vegas watching Game 2 of SCF. They're both expected to arrive at combine on Tuesday with interviews setup already for Wednesday.

Quentin Musty is already there. Apparently, majority of OHLers invited are already there.

Structural knee damage doesn't repair itself on its own. I would at least want NA docs to examine it to feel good about such a significant investment (early 1st round pick). Post-draft might be too late.
