Maybe because they were first overall last year met Wright, Cooley, Slaf and now there would be too many prospect meetings to keep up with?
The media being more interested because the Habs had the 1st might be it, but they aren't going to meet more kids this year since last year they interviewed almost every prospects (the 15-20 minutes interview) and meet one kid for the longer interview each day "after work".

I also think just the differences in what actually happens at the combines in the different sports is huge. The NHL seems like the least important in terms of player positioning, with the meetings being 100% the most important. With the NBA, teams get to work players and see how they shoot, pass, dribble, everything. And even more in the NFL with activities and exercises for all different positions.

It would be nice to see more coverage of the interviews but I guess it is still early
I'd disagree in thst the most important element is the exact same for both the NFL&NHL.
It places all the invitees in one place for the same medical team to conduct extensive physicals.

Are these the only updates we have from the combine??? What’s up!

Ryan Leonard is the second coming of Jayden Struble. Maybe Columbus picks him now that Timmins is there ;)

Love to hear about the Habs interview. Management target guys who really want to play in Montreal and have the mindset to succeed here. Good to take this opportunity to build a database on all the prospects.

I know Godin and Basu go every year and have some of the draftees on their podcast.

I also know Scott Matla is there also. He lives in Buffalo. He's not mainstream media, but I expect him to give updates at some point.
That's if he isn't busy being a SJW and crying about some other menial shit.

I believe the bergevin regime and the HuGo regime have 2 entirely different interviewing methods and processes.
At least they should.
I'm pretty sure the changes were something Martin Lapointe introduced, he joined the Habs staff in 2017 and he inherited Churla director of amateur scouting job in 2021.

It's ridiculously quiet. No word on who Montreal is interviewing at all. Shit coverage from everyone: news media, NHL & individual teams.

I like Cataford, but our pick in 2nd round is too early, and our 3rd round pick is probably not early enough. Anaheim has 3 picks between our 2 picks. Chances are high he's a Duck. It's frustrating.

I hate that we’re going to pick Ryan Leonard. I smell another 3rd liner

No way. Top 6 power forward all the way. Kid has everything you want in a player. Incredibly under-rated on these boards from people who have obviously not watched him.
