-Apparently (from what i read on the B's board) the Ullmark deal was done in good faith to show Swayman they wanted him here.

-Boston has a much better defensive system than Ottawa, i'm sure Korpisalo will look better as a Bruin than he did as a Senator

-Swayman's agent is using the press as a tool as well, he probably leaked some slant to Spittin' Chiclets

-Since 2015/16 until this past season the Bruins have been a regular season powerhouse, what are you talking about? They're first in the league in points over that time and made a SCF appearance.

-On the flipside, going with Korpisalo for the first few months and having a decent season tanks Swayman's value as well no? Unless Ullmark and Swayman are exceptional goaltenders (unlikely), the Bruin's system in place is conducive to good goaltending. Swayman holding out and not getting into game shape isn't going to help him.

Regardless, he hasn't proven anything and is demanding an elite contract. The Bruins are right to not give it to him and I'd hope in the same situation KD would do the same.

"Rumors" are he's looking for a McAvoy deal, which is absurd
If Swayman is actually expecting a 9+ cap hit Sweeney is completely correct even if he's reacting like an idiot.

Interesting situation in Vancouver. Demko is out indefinitely with a rare muscle condition. Really throws a wrench in their contender status which is too bad I've grown to like that team the last few years outside of EP 40

I don't see how anyone could have a strong hate for Vancouver at this point. Not much to hate on the active roster and most of the big players from that rivalry have retired. Who even is still playing aside from Kane?

Just came down today...The NCC (National Capital ComisSion) here in Ottawa has agreed to sell 10 acres of Lenreton Flats at Fair Market Value to the owners of the Otawa Senators which allows them to proceed on building a new Arena d Entertainment district for hockey and other events in this prime downtown location which is accessible by Light Rail Transit (the rail line and stops are already there)..

For me living in Ottawa and many local hockeyvfans getting to a Senators game out in Kanata with traffic takes 40 minutes to an hour depending on traffic flow on the 417 on hame nights...Then it can take anither half hour to 40 minutes just to get out ofvthebparkingblot after games. The entire experience is not very enjoyable to get out there and back.

Now I can just hop onthe LRT (if it has not broken down...and thatvis another story ) which is a 5 minute walk from my condo and be at the New Arena in just a few minutes...

Eve though the Senators are my 2nd fVourute team after my believed Blackhawks,I do plan to go to more NHL games in Ottawa once tge Arena is built and opens ...probably goibgvto be 5 yearsorv6 years before the project opens.

With the go ahead they now can finally draw up the architectural design plans for a state-of-the-art art Arena and environs on that acreage.

Looking at preseason game scores is a fun time, so many names you have no idea about or remember how much hype they got during a previous draft.

I viewed the 6-5 OT Otawaa Senators win over the Leafs yesterday ...tgey showed the game on TV here in Ontario...

Leafs iced practically their entire starting expected NHL squad with only a very few exceptions for this home game in Toronto..

Ottawa in contrast iced a teamwork only 3 regulars (Chabot Pinto and Batherson)...all the rest were AHL farm guys, rookies or some vet bubble guys trying for a 4th line..Ottawa jumped out to a big lead ...and you could say the 5th line of Ottawa dominated the scoring till Leafs woke up in thec3rd priod..

Ottawa vets Pinto Battersea and Chabot dod not figure in their 6 goals...5 of the 6 goals cane from the line of Halliday Jenison and Coke Reinhardt....Halliday was thought to be a bubble player with a chance to stick ina bottom2 line...Jenik and Reinhardt were thought to be just Ajlers for the farm team..Yet that kibecscored 5 goalsvs. Tge Leafs mostly starting squad!

Leafs did have a wake up in thev3rdvperuod to end regulation 5-5 ..butvib the 3x3 OT it was rookie RD Carter Yakemchuk who got the GWG to wi the game for Ottawa.

After the game Travis Green the Ottawa coach said it was not just the one scoring pkay by Yakenchuk that impressed him...the kid was solid alk noght..Mohican Nd played his position well.

I just hope Levshunov Fareed as well once he gets hus chance to impress in the Show.

I do not think despitecthis goid showing by Yakemchuk that he makes the Senators squad this season..

Best not to rush such a young dman...let hom go back and doninatevin juniors...pkay in the WJHC etc.
Still he wss far more solid defebsiveky than sone of the scouting critics had suggested coukd be the case..I thought he played realky well throughout the contest in regulation...Scoring the OT winner was just icing on the cake.

Only 1 pre-season game but still considering the lineup Leafs put on the ice this was a good effort and deserved victory by many o n Ottawa who probably are not going to make the Show this season.

Yes, Laine took a beer league level knee to knee hit.

Xhekaj jumped the guy afterwards. What happened next reminded me of something...

Bruins have f***ed that whole thing up in my opinion.
Both sides have played it horribly. I just think back to Klingberg turning down 7x7 and betting on himself, to not even earning a third of that. Swayman is one injury away from killing his earnings potential.

Sure, he could earn like 80 million, but with 64 million on the table, that’s tough to turn down.
