He played great/even better when Makar was out last year.
So did Seabrook at times, like early on 2016. Toews is a Hammer/Seabs #2, that's great but he's overblown if a team was foolishly gonna pay him like a #1 to do it on his own elsewhere.

A implies he wouldn't have had multiple teams looking to pay him through the nose. Top pairing defenseman are very hard to come across. And three years from the signing if it's an albatross the guy who offered it usually doesn't care because it's the new GM's problem if it doesn't go well.

Absolutely, but getting him under market value is a great deal for the Avs. But yeah, Seth Jones is in the Seabrook Hammer #2 as well, and you can see the issues with his contract. If Seth was signed for 7.25, no one would really be saying much.

OT but love watching videos like these and this was on my feed after Zach Benson had 2 assists last night. LOL at Arizona being mentioned again as a team that surprised another team of their pick. Buffalo also tried to move up (and teams who were further back called to move up into their spot and they said no. No doubt in my mind the Hawks were likely one of them).

Toronto is 2-0 and has scored 12 goals in 2 games.. naturally their fans are directing their energy towards complaints about their new goal songs

Tampa with 3 shots in the first period against Ottawa (17). Could be a rough year for them. Wonder if we end up with their first rounder being moved to 2025

I would rather that not happen as we already have 2 1sts in 2025. I think they will be around .500 when Vasi comes back then barely make playoffs.

What are the protections on the Lightning pick? Top 10 this year obviously, is it unprotected if it moves to next year?
If it moves, it's automatically unprotected.

But Tampa traded their 2025 pick to Nashville.

So in this instance, the pick would probably have to move to 2026.

The Tinordi hit. I've watched it a few times, and the only thing I can think is that it got twisted up during the initial contact before he went up onto the wall by the bench. Watched it in slow motion and it looks like he could have caught an edge right at impact and it twisted funny. He didn't do it getting off the bench as far as I can tell. Nothing odd or weird about how he got down from there.

Why do people keep saying this? That doesn’t make sense at all. If Tampa gets a top 10 pick we get the following unprotected first then Nashville would get theirs. We made our trade first why would our pick change?

2024 Tampa pick top 10 protected
2025 to Chicago Unprotected
2026 to Nashville Unprotected

They will give up two unprotected picks if they bottom out this year. That’s the only way the trade could have been written to Nashville.

So Zach Benson lost the puck and missed the net during warmups when he went out solo as the usual rookie lap and Bedard got crucified by the jealous idiots on the internet for mishandling the puck when he passed it to Korchinski. Clearly he's a bust.

Nerves are a thing for 18 year olds. Best of luck to Benson going forward. This draft class was definitely special.

Benson is going to be a monster, if the Hawks were able to trade up in the draft like they were supposedly trying to do would've love to add him. Really tenacious on the forecheck and backcheck for a smaller guy and he has some special traits on offense. Think he's going to make a lot of teams regret passing on him.

If they traded it up, it would've been for Moore. That was their target.
