Jason Robertson has 22 goals in 24 games. 39 points. +14. He was the 39th overall pick. What?
I didn't cover the 2017 draft so I don't know why he fell.
But he put up 42 goals in his draft and continued being productive in the playoffs. Those are stats you'd expect to see out of a 1st rounder. His numbers were similar to Tippet, Vilardi, and Suzuki who all went much higher.
He's not small either so it's not a DeBrincat situation.
Not sure what happened there.
It's like when you look back at Artemi Panarin's draft year. Great production, but he went undrafted. How does that happen? Doesn't matter if he's small, you still take a flyer on that in the late rounds.
I understand when someone like Mark Stone goes low in the draft because he didn't play much and his production wasn't outstanding. But when a player does everything right and still goes unnoticed? Weird. Brayden Point was like that. Great stats in his draft year.
