Philly, you still have time to redeem yourself by sending us JVR and a first so you can bring in Matty.

At least he's giving the Flames time to get something for him, unlike Gaudreau who royally screwed them by stringing them along.

Eh I mean he gave them 5 teams and none have the cap space for him without moving someone major and then still having to give up a haul for him. Hardly some big favor he did.

Not a chance in hell Vegas or Florida can make room for him so really 3 teams.

Not even sure Dallas can free up the space either after they re-up their guys that need deals.

All true, but at least the Flames have the clear option of moving him at the deadline, to a team looking for a rental.

Johnny never gave them that. Just kept stringing them along.

Fair point. I don’t think he’s going to get his wish but he can sort that out via FA or expand his options.

Teams will gladly clear up room and give up assets to acquire Tkachuk, and I'm sure CGY will help them clear cap if the right deal is to be made.

StL is completely possible. All they have to do is ship out Tarasenko who requested a trade anyway, and include a Barbashev or Scandella in the deal and they have the room.

Makes good sense for St. Louis to do it baring they aren't giving up a young forward back. It is a lot smarter of a move than they've done post cup with idk what they think goalie and defensemen signings.

Of those teams, probably only Nashville can make it work

Yup they have the prospect pool, the cap space and good players in the NHL without trade protection. It's an attractive trade partner for Calgary. Whether its Nashville or St. Louis it will still suck to see Tkachuk in the division regardless of us sucking for the next few years.

Dallas and Florida have enough cap to sign Tkachuk.

They gave the same amount of Cap as St Louis for next season. St. Louis is gonna have to move multiple bodies THIS season to even fit Tkachuk

Blues will have $15 million in cap space freeing up after this upcoming season with o’Reily and Tarasenko expiring.
It’s 24 million but only 12 guys signed. That roster is gonna have to implode a bit if they were to ever realistically get Tkachuk for the 9-10 million he is going to ask for. They get Tkachuk they pretty much have to have 10 guys at league minimum/elcs to make it work which is a whole different realm of being realistic

For just one year, sure. However I can't see anyone giving up what it would take to get him without the intention of locking him up at a 10M hit or so.

Isn't Florida above the cap as is? If I'm Dallas I'm more worried about locking up Otter and Robertson and keeping room for Hintz.
