Wonder if some teams will allow fans in some capacity inside their arenas. Every state has different restrictions , Florida for one has no restrictions.

Yes. Everyone is playing in their own arena. Other than San Jose, due to local restrictions.

sharks will hold camp in Arizona but will it definitely effect the regular season too? what about the other CA teams?

also Vancouver is up in the air too...last I saw British Columbia still wasn't on board.

I'd be shocked if the NHL allows full attendance even if a state like florida has no rules just cause its a bad look. But I definitely expect to see limited fans in the states they can with the hopes of having at least partially filled buildings everywhere by the end of the year.

Yeah I think by maybe as soon as April, most states will open up and they will have some capacity allowed. Just need the vaccines to circulate but it takes time.

I expect Jan/Feb to be hell with severe lock downs. So am happy we have hockey to watch. Going to be a depressing winter, and staying home a lot, but at least hockey will help with that.

Yeah I forgot about Vancouver.

No idea if the restrictions in Santa Clara County will be lifted by the start of the season. I think when they were issued they were temporary, but who knows if they'll be extended.

Seems like Ontario and maybe Quebec aren’t slam dunks either.

i thought i saw yesterday that 4 of the 5 provinces were on board and just BC that was having issues.

but really nothing we've heard so far is official until both sides sign off and they announce all the details...I'd have to assume that announcement would include any contingency plans for teams that can't start at home or have special rules.

The NHL announced the agreement a few hours ago. It’s completely official. They will find rinks for the couple teams to play in if the local governments want to play hardball with the NHL, but my gut feeling is all the Canadian providences will agree sooner than later.

Schedules likely to be released mid week.

"Looks like another too many men penalty, Sam."

So the season is gonna be mostly a bunch of home-and-homes.

As mentioned above, it sounds like they'll mostly do 2-3 game series with opponents. My wife always wondered why they didn't schedule more of these in general as it's good for rivalries and also helps with travel fatigue and costs. Obviously with having only 7 opponents it will get a bit tiresome but it's necessary now.
